What Is A Network?

A local area network (LAN) connects computers in a single building using digital transmission over cable. A LAN provides file and printer sharing services on special server computers to allow any computer on the network to access files and print. External communication is possible by connecting a modem to allow the LAN to communicate with systems elsewhere. For example, in the IT department of the Nepal Electricity Authority over 30 computers share information through the file server on the LAN.

Network used to interconnect computers in a single room


,rooms inside a buildings are normally called local area
network (LANs).LANs normally transmit data in a
digital form using media such as coaxial cable or multithreated
cable.local area network can be used only on one site of a
building.the terminals and work stations are able to connect
either one of the two host computers when required.
The network has a fileservice and a printer service.it is a special
computer which provides a form of auxiliary storage that can be
used by any other computer on the network.and the other service
is a special printer which can be received data form other
computers on the network and print it .it is possible tpo connect
external communication service on hteLAN with a a device
which makes the communication possible between the equipment
of the network and system ewlsewhere
Ex;modem
For example,in IT department of Nepal electricity
authority,there r more than 30 computers working at the same
time .the authority can get the information about whatever is
being opertated any computer.all things can be connected with
the file service.
Format typed paragraph as following criteria.
 Apply 16pt format size with bold and italic for heading
and center align ity.
 Apply paragraph spacing aftter 12pt for all paragraphs.
 Apply line paragraph 1.5 lines for third paragraph and
justify it.
 Insert footnote ;two or more than two computers
connecyed with or without cable’ fromn the underlined
word ofg first paragraph
