1. INTRODUCTION:

Speech recognition system was started in Bell Labs in 1950s. The modern speech
recognition systems have developed a long way as the early systems were limited to a
single speaker. It can recognize speech from multiple speakers and have enormous
vocabularies in numerous languages. Speech must be converted from physical sound
to an electrical signal with a microphone, and then to digital data with an analogue to-
digital converter. Once digitized, several models can be used to transcribe the audio to
text. Most modern speech recognition systems rely on what is known as a Hidden
Markov Model (HMM).

Objective of our project will be to make this software way more secure than before
because earlier this system does not provide security. As we know the Google
assistant sometimes does not recognise our voice and gets unlocked by some other
unauthorised voices ,so our main focus will be to make it way more recognisable and
secured to the authorised user.

2. LITERATURE REVIEW:

Speech analysis has been investigated as the natural form of machine-human

communication.[1] The unknown voice through the microphone is transformed into
an electrical signal on the input of the identification system, the first after the pre-
treatment. The system establishes a voice model according to the human voice
characteristics, analyses the input voice signal and extracts the required features on
this basis, it establishes the required template of the speech recognition.[2] Security is
very important for any software. In a voice recognition software it is done by
identifying the speaker.[3]

3. SCOPE:

There are some areas where speech recognition can works efficiently are as follows:

 Telephony

Advances in the wireless communication and speech recognition have made it

possible to access the web from any place, at any time, by using only a phone.
Some possible applications are browsing the web, getting share prices,
verifying flight schedules, getting maps and directions, checking email, etc.

 Health care

Speech recognition facilitates information capturing in electronic health record

systems as it allows physicians to interact with the system by merely speaking
the words. Dictation for a transcriptionist would be also very easy at this point.

 People with disabilities

The application of speech recognition is in helping handicapped and disable
people. Within the last decade, many improvements have been done in the
performance of speech recognizers and current technology in relation to the
needs of the disabled population. Blind people were among the first people
with disabilities to benefit significantly from speech recognition computer
technology.

 Windows Speech Recognition

Speech recognition software enables the operating system to convert spoken

words to written text. Windows Speech Recognition in Windows Vista
facilitates users to interact with their computers by voice. User can dictate
documents and emails in mainstream applications use voice commands to start
and switch between applications, control the operating system, and even fill
out forms on the Web.

 Helicopters

Army Avionics Research and Development Activity (AVRADA) and by the

Royal Aerospace Establishment (RAE) in the UK. Work in France has
included speech recognition in the Puma helicopter.
