RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ENGLISH COORDINATOR

*.Have regularly scheduled staff meetings

.Plan the curriculum together per semester *

.Have time to observe other teachers on your staff *

Have regularly scheduled meetings with your principal. *

.Organize an English File and keep it up to date *

*.Bring enrichment items to your teachers

*.Exchange ideas, worksheets, tests, etc., amongst staff

.Delegate responsibilities *

*.Coach and support new teachers

*.Problems should be dealt with openly, with all parties involved

*.Decide with staff which new materials to buy

.See that the teachers attend in-service study days and courses and report back to staff *

.Go through the results of a test given and plan a follow-up program *

Be in contact with the school advisor as regards students with special learning problems. *
.Provide information that is required

.Class allocation- in coordination with the person delegated by schools *

.See to a friendly, cooperative and professional climate amongst the staff at all times *
