Telecom Equipment & Services
Smart Coverage Solutions: The case

• Today, cellular operators all over the world

should be able to provide solutions that
improve service to the end user and increase
profitability to the operator with minimum
CAPEX. Special antennas is one way of
achieving more (coverage) for less (CAPEX).
• In many cases Special Antennas can actually
save the cost of additional base station,
outdoors repeater system and Indoor
coverage DAS. It can solve your difficult
coverage scenarios at a fraction of the cost of
any other solution.
•An indispensable tool for cellular planners
and optimizers.
High efficiency Parabolic antenna:
The Solution

By using an ultra high efficiency Parabolic Antenna

with a “special” feed we can succeed to have a narrow
beamwidth antenna that can be used to improve
coverage, signal reception and service delivery at
targeted locations. It can be considered as a specially
“shaped sector”.

This solution can be used to enhance the existing

network of a mobile operator and significantly reduce
the cost of extra equipment to provide decent service
to areas with specialized coverage requirements or
cases where it is difficult to penetrate, even inside
commercial or residential buildings.

 Does NOT Compete With or Replace Common Sector Antennas!

 It Opens a Whole NEW Range of Coverage Solutions
Main characteristics of a
High efficiency Parabolic Antenna

• Ultra high gain

• Narrow beamwidth (H & V)
• Suppressed side lobes
• High F/B ratio
• Single, dual or circular polarization
• Quick to install
• Low cost

Covers all Cellular bands: GSM900 and wide band 1700-2200 MHz
Can increase coverage distance up to 30Km

Case Study:
Building Penetration

• Improve coverage inside buildings.

• Ideal for difficult to penetrate
residential buildings, campus, malls etc.
• Cost effective alternative solution
for in-door coverage.
• Offload the pressure on existing
infrastructure.
• Resolves issues of no coverage at
lower floors and hard handoffs at
top floors.
Case Study:
Building Penetration /Offices

•Ideal for difficult to penetrate offices.

• Cost effective alternative solution
for in-door coverage, compared to a
Repeater installation system.
•Providing dominant signal for
high building from nearby BTS
•Mobile users in upper floors of lucrative
office building suffer from “hard handoffs”
due to multiple signals from several BTS.
•No added interference to surrounding BTS
Due to extremely narrow beam & low side
& back lobes. No frequency reuse problem
either.

• No more complaints of dropped calls along the road.
• Use of high gain narrow beam antenna along the highway
results in significant improvement in service and
added income for operator.
• Save a significant number of Base Stations, required to
cover the whole route.
• Creates strong signal to vehicles on major highway

Up to 40% more effective coverage along the

route compared to standard BTS antennas

Case Study: Eliminating interference

• An efficient parabolic antenna provides

strong dominant signal where needed while
eliminating interference.
• In congested areas, a narrow-beam antenna
is the ideal solution to avoid increasing the
interference of the area and mitigate mutual
BTS interference. No interference to
