Assignment 1 - Risk Assessment

Due date: Monday 5th August 2019 Word Limit: 1,200 words

Select an activity with which you are closely associated or very familiar (eg., it may have something to
do with your work or at leisure).

Your task is to prepare a document that will:

a) Describe the project or activity you have selected;

b) Conduct a preliminary risk assessment and highlight what particular risk issues are
associated with this project or activity – you will need to provide a score for all components
of the project or activity;

c) Develop a risk management strategy for all identified risk (and specifically those that you
deem as unacceptable); and

d) Conduct another risk assessment factoring in your risk management strategy – this then
determines the residual risk.

e) Describe the outcome and what management actions you would undertake (if any), now.

Your report should demonstrate a clear understanding of the processes involved and should be
approximately 1,200 words in length (excluding references, tables and figures).

You will need to use a risk assessment matrix for both the original and residual risk assessments.
