OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
1. Differentiate genes, DNA, and chromosomes
2. Create model of genes, DNA, and chromosomes
3. Trace the development and passing of traits form parent to offspring.
Provide activity sheet wherein students would identify the missing parts of a cell
and their functions (drawing activity-by group)
ENGAGE (15 min) “ Get the students’ minds focused on the topic
Introduce “Guess the Word Game” (Teacher will present through powerpoint
descriptions or meaning then students would guess the word or term being
referred to)
Let the students create model of genes, DNA, and chromosomes using clay.
(Group Activity)
ELABORATE (15 min) “Teacher deepens the concept and facilitate generalization
of the concepts.
Through power point and video presentation the teacher clarifies the concepts
and check misconceptions.
EVALUATE (15 min) “How will you know that the students have learned the
concept?”
EXTEND
Family picture analysis (students vs. parent- identify traits inherited from either
mother or the father)
