“Mother Tongue,” by Amy Tan. Compare it with “Fish Cheeks.” Use compare/contrast.
 Create a graphic organizer or use a Venn diagram to point out differences & similarities
between “Fish Cheeks” and “Mother Tongue.”

10/6: In class essay: Using compare/contrast technique, write an essay comparing/contrasting:

Please Note:

Regardless of the above, in order to receive a grade of “C” or better, you must produce in-class writing that
averages to at least a “C.”
Even though a student’s out-of-class essays, quizzes and in-class writings average to a “C,” a student will
receive a grade no higher than a “D,” for a final grade unless he or she writes a passing 10 th week essay or
final exam essay.
