III. Procedure
1. Preliminary Activities
A. Prayer
- Requesting everybody to please stand for a prayer
B. Greetings
- Good morning class!
C. Energizer
- Dance
D. Checking of attendance
- Class secretary will check the attendance
E. Setting of standards
- Students raise their standards.
F. Checking of assignment
- Call pupils to answer their homework in front
G. Review
- Ask pupils what are the basis when writing a composition based on the outline?
A composition should start with the introduction, proceed with the body and end
with a conclusion.
The introduction is going to present the topic you will be discussing and give an
overview of it.
The body will elaborate on the topic
The conclusion will summarize the important points and/or leave a message
for the readers to ponder on.
In writing paragraph observe indention and punctuation.
The outline is brief and may contain phrases or keywords, but composition
must make use of complete sentences. You may also elaborate on ideas and
add details.

Ice hockey is played with sticks. Tennis can be played on grass or clay courts.
B. Presentation
Say: Today we discuss about distinguishing fact and opinion.
A fact is a statement which experiences and experiments have proven to be
true. It is directly observable.
Example:
Dogs have two ears.
Fish swim in the water.
Flowers are part of a plant.
An opinion is a view or guess which may or may not be true. It tells what
someone thinks or feel about something.
Example:
Golf is boring.
Pizza is delicious.
Math is the hardest subject.
C. Modeling
The teacher will read the paragraphs.
b. Bryan believes that being a veterinarian and working with animals would be a
wonderful thing for him to do when he grows up. He thinks he will become an
excellent veterinary doctor in the future.
D. Activity
- This time teacher will flash a statements on the screen, then the pupils
will be going to distinguish weather it is a fact or opinion.
- Flashing cards.
E. Guided Practice
The teacher will present new sentences to the pupils and to distinguish if the
sentence is fact or opinion.
