A shooting occurred in Zamboanga City that resulted in one death. Bernardo Piaga was shot by Jayson Dimagiba and was pronounced dead at the hospital. 1. On December 27, 2019 at approximately 9:00 o'clock in the evening a shooting incident
transpired at Amethyst Street, Johnston Drive, San Jose Cawa-cawa, Zamboanga City
wherein victim one Bernardo G. Piaga, 40 years old, married, (iyang trabaho) and a
resident of Amethyst Street, Johnston Drive, San Jose Cawa-cawa, Zamboanga City was
shot by suspect Jayson N. Dimagiba, 33 years old, married, (iyang trabaho) and a resident
of San Roque, Zamboanga City. As a result thereof, the victim sustained a gunshot
wound sat at the heart and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment but was
pronounced dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending physician thereat. The weapon used
in the commission of the crime was found at the branch of the bush at approximately 10
feet away from the crime scene. The suspect was arrested at his house during hot pursuit
operation conducted and he is now under the custody of this station for investigation and
proper disposition. The cadaver of the victim was moved to (name, address of the lab
where the autopsy was conducted) for autopsy examination.
2. The motive of the incident was determined as robbery which resulted to the death of
Bernardo G. Piaga.
