4. Write part program for milling of the sides and mirror features on the job shown in
Figure 1 below.

4. Explain MICLASS system of group technology giving suitable example.
5. Explain the concept of composite component.
6. Explain computer aided process planning.

Tutorial-5: CAD

1. List various types of digital display devices.


2. What is curve fitting technique?
3. Discuss the limitations of Bezier curve.
4. Classify various projections.
5. Find the transformation matrix RL for reflection of an object p(x,y) about a line L
which is passing through the origin and inclined at an angle α taking suitable
example.
6. The triangle with vertices A(2,4), B(4,6) and C(2,6) is reflected to the line 2y=x+4.
Find the final position of the triangle and also draw the sketch of each step.
7. Write the advantages of CAD.
8. What is panning.
9. Write AutoCAD commands which you will use to draw two views of a hexagonal bolt.
10. Describe geometric modelling in detail. Write the name of software which can be
used for geometric modelling.
11. In AutoCAD identify the geometric transformations used in MOVE and COPY
commands which are to be performed on an existing object with suitable example.
12. Explain shell feature using suitable example.
13. Differentiate between surface modelling and solid modelling.
14. Differentiate between IDEAS software and AutoCAD software.
