Assignment: Use rules of AHP.

1. I have two job offers. They are from ICICI bank and IDBI bank. Two criteria weigh in my mind:
they are location and salary. Create a hierarchical tree using this information.
2. You want to buy an SUV. Identify three criteria which you would think of, which would be of
significance to you, for purchasing an SUV. Think of two alternative companies which sell an
SUV. Create a hierarchical tree using the criteria and alternative companies.
3. I want to have a cup of coffee. Think of three criteria which are of importance to me. Two
alternatives are in my locality where I could drink coffee-they are CCD and Barista. Create a
hierarchical tree using the criteria and alternative providers of coffee.
4. A customer wants to buy a lap top. Two criteria are of importance to him. They are reliability
of the lap top and provision of after sale service. Reliability is four times as important as after
sale service. He has two alternatives open to him-Dell and HP. Dell is three times superior as
compared to HP in reliability. HP’s provision for after sale service is twice superior to that of
Dell. Create a hierarchical tree using this information and illustrate customer preference
using AHP.
5. A man wants to buy a car. Two criteria are of importance to him. They are style and cost.
Style is three times more important than cost. And there are two options before him. They
are Swift Dzire and Honda City. The cost of Swift Dzire is twice preferable as compared to
cost of City. However, style of City is three times superior as compared to that of Dzire.
Create a hierarchical tree using this information and illustrate customer preference using
AHP.
