There are four main types of writing: narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive. Narrative writing tells a story, descriptive writing expresses ideas about people, events, and ideas using precise language, expository writing communicates information and ideas, and persuasive writing aims to convince the reader. Each type has different forms and purposes. Effective writing also requires proofreading to catch errors and editing to refine content before publication.
