Pages .NET with Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2003 as front end and Microsoft SQL Server 2000
as back end which works in .Net framework version 1.1. The coding language used is Visual
Basic .Net.
At any time, the current account status of any customer of any branch can be
viewed in any / all branches by administrator, staff, and customer. The project is mainly
designed for reducing the burdens of the bank officials. The transaction could be made only
through the bank officials. The customers can only view the services provided by the bank. Also
the customer can view their account details anywhere.
EXISTING SYSTEM
The existing system involves manual transactions. The account creation details are
entered manually in the respective branches and passbook is provided to them. The transaction
details such as deposit, withdrawal, and transfer entry are made manually.
The report generation such as cashbook, ledger preparations are more time consuming
and more work involved. The manual data entry becomes error prone. The mistakes made
become corrected after the long checking and verification. The administrator cannot immediately
checks all the branch transactions. To avoid these problems, it is decided to change over the
manual system to the computerized one.
DRAWBACKS:
The existing system involves manual transactions.
1. More time consuming and more work involved.
2. Checking and verification periods are too long.
3. The administrator cannot immediately checks all the branch transactions
PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed system involves computerized transactions through the private intranet
solution through the Internet. The administrator enters all the branch details and provides
username and password to the respective branches. The staffs in the respective branch enter the
account creation details through their logins.
The transaction details such as deposit, withdrawal, transfer entry are made to the
customer’s account through the corresponding branch logins only. Thus the security is provided
to avoid the accessing of the account details.
Moreover, the customer can only view the transactions and he cannot change any values
in the entries. From the administrator part, the branch transactions or account transactions can be
viewed. From the branch part, the account details of their branch can be viewed either all or after
selecting the particular account or between two given dates.
