The network proposed under this project can be used for SCADA/ EMS signal transmission, Telephony, Teleprotection traffic and Metering signal transmission. ABB proposes the necessary interfaces in this project to ensure the transmission of these signals. Because of the specially designed ABB products for utilities and the high flexibility of the FOX it is easy possible to upgrade your network for other applications such as IP-Based traffic by just adding the required interface. Especially the upgradeability for Teleprotection is extremely easy by just plugging the Teleprotection interface module. So therefore, no additional equipment, no rebuilding of the cabinet or even supplying of a new cabinet is necessary, For Rural electrification in Gaza Province project in Mosambique, the stations MAPAI & LIONDE has been proposed with two types of communication systems, one a broadband system comprises a fiber optic STM-1 link using OPGW connected between them & other a narrowband system comprises a PLC link connected with the overhead transmission line between them. 3.1. Broadband System The proposed SDH/PDH equipment FOXS15, offers various voice, data and teleprotection interfaces as well as STM-1 optical aggregate interfaces to build STM-1 network. The optical communication network is of STM-1 with a transmission capacity of 155Mbps and provides services for: ‘+ 2Mbit Voice/Data Channels + IP/Ethemet ‘+ Teleprotection ‘* Data applications such as V.24/V.28 for SCADA 3.2, PLC System ETL 600, R4 (100) Twin channel PLC equipment is offered in this project. It is a flexible access system with an enhanced system design and integrated transmission capabilities, The FOXS15 is a network element of medium to large capacity in the access network and particularly suited as Multiservice Access System similar to other FOXs but with considerably higher traffic handling capacity, with new functionalities and services such as the handling of SDH signals and V5.x service provisioning. Interface for the FOX Access Network to a Backbone Network. This implies the ability to terminate high capacity aggregate signals (SDH STM-1/4) down to 64 kbps circuits. and to provide physical user service interfaces (POTS, ISDN, and data leased lines). ‘As a multi-service Access System, the FOX515 bridges the gap between the individual subscriber service and the backbone network. Device which uses its STM-1/4 interfaces for the integration into SDH based transport networks and which provides at the same time cross connect functionality for the PDH tributary signals. Digital Subscriber Line Access System for extension traffic over several kilometers of copper lines. Platform to support the integrated OPTIF and TEBIT modules for teleprotection applications. LANIWAN access device for Ethemet and TCP/IP networks. The FOX515 has a 19-inch subrack with 21 slots for traffic, control and power units. The FOX515 and the FOX512 use the same types of control units and provide a large set of integrated transmission interfaces (optical fibers and copper based). These interfaces allow you to connect the network element directly to your transport backbone or to build a transport network with the FOX515 and FOX512. a =e ABB i 1KHD655165 ai 1 ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 The STM-1/4 interfaces (STM-1 electrical and optical, STM-4 optical) are the interfaces with the highest traffic capacity that is available with the FOX515 and FOX512. It is possible to configure the FOX515 as a terminal Access System or as add and drop multiplexer for STM- 1/4 SDH signals. The FOXS15 features the F- and the Q1-interface for local and remote management access, which are both functionally compatible with the corresponding interfaces of the FOX-U/M and FOX-U. Additionally, the FOX515 provides the QX-interface. This is an Ethernet interface (10BaseT) which allows management accesses via LANs. For the remote management of NEs with the UCST and FOXMAN, the FOX515 provides the ECC (Embedded Communication Channel). The ECC is a high performance in-band data channel, which allows the implementation of versatile in-band networks for the management ‘communication of the FOX515 and FOX512. If required, it is possible to connect the FOX515 via the SIFOX to the EOC (Embedded Operation Channel), the management communication network of the FOX-U and FOX-U/M Architecture: The FOXS15 implementation is based on a new construction of a 19-inch subrack and the control units COBUX. You can implement redundancy for both the control unit and the power supply units (POSUM). A set of traffic units with a new design satisfies the enhanced requirements for capacity and functions for the multi-service applications with the FOX515. These units provide access to the high capacity PBUS. Units with SDH functionality provide access to the SBUS and (if applicable) also to the PBUS. Cross-connect: The FOX515 enhances the FOX Access System portfolio with 1/0, 1/1 cross-connect and SDH transmission capacity in one 19-inch subrack. The FOX515 is capable of multiplexing and cross connecting both nx 64 kbit/s and 2 Mbit/s signals. The cross connect is implemented on the PBUS, which is the typical BUS structure of the FOX. The maximal cross connect capacity on the PBUS is in total 128 x 2 Mbit/s. The FOX515 cross-connect supports also VC-12 traffic. The plesiochronous 2 Mbit/s signals are either switched transparently or demultiplexed and switched as n x 64 kbit's signals. Structured synchronous signals are terminated and synchronized by the local system clock. The cross-connect handles unstructured 2 Mbit/s signals for transparent cross connecting. The FOX515 also provides UBUS access with a capacity of 2 times 4 x 2 Mbit/s for traffic signals with and without signaling. ‘Synchronization: The FOX515 provides PETS and SETS (with STM-1/4 interfaces only) for system synchronization. Installation: The FOX515 allows installation in 19-inch or ETSI racks. Compatibility with other FOX: The FOX515 offers backward compatibility with the proven FOX system philosophy and equipment. The COBUX control units have been specially designed for the new FOX Multiservice Access Systems. The open system architecture allows you to use all the FOX traffic interfaces (data, voice, 5.x, xDSL and optical fibers) with the FOXS15 and FOX512 network elements. For further information please refer to the FOX515 brochure 4KHD655165, en 12 ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 5.1. SDH Interfaces SYNUF ‘The SYNUF unit provides 1 STM-1 transmission interface for SDH traffic signals based on SFP technology. The following SFPs are available: S-1.1, L-1.1, L-1.2, X-1.2, STM-1e (electrical STM-1), CWOM long haul, CWDM enhanced long haul. ‘The SYNUF unit allows you to implement the TM on one unit and the ADM functionality on two units. The FOX supports the simultaneous operation of two SYNUF in the same SBUS sector. The SYNUF uses 1 slot in the FOX subrack. It offers MSP (Multiplex Section Protection) and 1+1 Equipment Protection. SYNAC The SYNAC unit terminates VC-12 from the SBUS and provides the corresponding P12 (2Mbit/s (n x 64kbit!s)) access to the PBUS. The unit terminates up to 8 VC-12. You can implement several SYNAC units in order to terminate more SDH traffic in the NE. The SYNAC uses 1 slot in the FOX subrack. SYNAD ‘The SYNAD provides 16 electrical 2 Mbit/s interfaces for the SDH aggregate traffic. The ‘SYNAD terminates VC-12 traffic from the SBUS and provides local 2 Mbit/s interfaces for the corresponding E12 signals. You can implement several SYNAD units in order to terminate more SDH traffic in the NE. The SYNAD uses 1 slot in the FOX subrack. 5.2. Modular Coupling Device MCD80 ‘The MCD80 is connected in series with the high-voltage coupling capacitor (CC) or capacitive voltage transformer (CVT). The MCD80 conforms to the latest IEC 60481 recommendations and is backed by more than 50 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of coupling devices within ABB. The MCD80 coupling device consists of the equipment housing, the filter module, a drain coil, a surge arrester and an external earth switch, which clearly indicates earthing or oper status. The grey enclosure is of fiberglass- reinforced polyester and meets the protection class requirements according to IP54 in IEC 60529 and the UL requirements for electrical outdoor equipment. There is no possibility of rust. The latches of the door are opened and closed using a special key, which can be removed to prevent unauthorized access to the unit. The terminals for the connections to the coupling capacitor and to system ground are strong M10 bolts on the left of the unit. In the bottom of the housing there are glands for connections to the PLC equipment and two breathing vents. All the components are tropicalised and therefore heaters or dehumidifiers are unnecessary. The MCD80 coupling device with high-pass filter module is called A9BS, it can be programmed in field for various values of coupling capacitance and for two line- and two PLC equipment impedances and is used for phase-to-ground coupling. Phase-phase or intersystem coupling requires push-pull signal injection onto the HV lines. For this purpose a hybrid transformer is added. The MCD80 coupling device with high-pass filter module and hybrid transformer is called ABT. For phase-phase or intersystem coupling a set of A9BS and ABT is required. The coil conductor is of square section aluminium and the tums are spaced either by impregnated fiberglass tape or of fiberglass spacer rods. There is no insulation besides air around the conductor and therefore no problems can arise due to local hot spots or cracks in the insulation. This “open” type construction provides for excellent cooling by the surrounding air. This solid method of construction achieves a good RF Figure 6 DLTC cheracteristic with a high Q, low stray capacitance and a high resonant frequency of the coil itself. The entire main coil is impregnated with a well- proved two-component epoxy resin of known good out-of-doors performance. Depending on the rated current and rated inductance, the main coil is wound with either one or several layers. Tie bars of fberglass-einforced epoxy or spacer rods hold the spider supports at the ends of the coils together. Because of their low weight and small dimensions, DLTC coils can be mounted on coupling capacitors or capacitive voltage transformers. They can also be mounted on post insulators or simply suspended. All coils are equipped with lifting eyes on both sides. Apart from a pedestal, optional bird barriers and the corona shield needed at the higher power system voltages can also be attached to the spiders. The tuning unit and the surge arrester are secured inside the main coil. The line traps are equipped with a modern metal-oxide surge arrester without spark gaps. Only arresters with a rating of 10kA are used. The main advantages are: - High surge suppression capacity. - Fast response to the high-rise transient surges, which typically occur across line traps when disconnectors are operated. - Low and stable protection level. The tuning device provides defined impedance or blocking resistance in the frequency band The tuning circuit is usually of the factory fixed dual-circuit broadband type. All tuning components are placed in a sealed enclosure filled with PUR foam for environmental protection. Special attention has been paid to the proper insulation coordination between the main coll, tuning device and surge arrester to ensure long lifetime of tuning circuit. We reserve the right to supply a similar type, by mutual agreement. ABB ‘compared the calculated values for the availability and MTBF for a teleprotection signal in different types of network architectures (ring). In a Network with external teleprotection equipment, flexible multiplexer and separate SDH equipment as part of the ring, the MTBF is 73'955 hrs. In a Network with integrated teleprotection interface and integrated SDH and PDH node, which is also part of a ring (FOX515) the MTBF is 140'196 hrs. Detailed calculation can be delivered on request. ‘+ Only one type of equipment has to be known > less training costs. Full integrated network management system. The node is prepared for teleprotection applications by adding the teleprotection Interface Requires fewer cabinets and less space in the communication room. Teleprotection 9.1. Analogue Protection Signaling Equipment The transmission of protection commands is one of the most important tasks of PLC systems. PLC links have proven their reliability and security for decades, be it 2s the main channel or as. backup for broadband systems, keeping in mind that the robustness of the transmission path is determined by the ruggedness of the sower line itself - no ctrer wire of fiberbound soliton can offer the same degree of securty, ETL600 can be equipped with one or two integrated teleprotection units (NSD800). Each unit supports the transmission of up to 4 simultaneous and individually programmable commands for blocking, permissive and direct trpoing. The commands are transmitted in the speech band and/or in the band allocated to the broadband modem, hence no extra bandwidth is consumed by the teleprotection. During the shor time of commend transmission, other services can be disabled allowing to allocate the full available transmit power to the protection signals (command level boosting). Novel adaptive sional processing algorithms ensure shortest transmission times even for direct tripping applications, without compromising the security in any respect. Module G4Al is the protection signaling interface. Tha teleprotection interface includes: * Four input circuits equipped with optecouplers. © Fur output circuits equiopec with semiconductors (referred to as ‘solid’ state outputs), * Two electto-mechanical output ralays with change-over contacts (referred to as ‘relay outputs!) The input and the outout circuits are protected against overveltage and inverse polarity. The input circuits can be programmed for four battery voltage ranges by setting corresponding jumpers. The ranges for the nominal battery voltage are 24-47 VDC, 48 ~ 108 VDC, 110 ~ 219 VDC and 220 - 250 VDC The input circuits are current limited, no external precautions have to be taken. Each input and Outout can be programmed with the help of the user interface HMI800 for one of the many available functions. 4 independent Commands simultaneously transmitted in ary possible ALL i" 4KHD855 165 [= r [is | ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 combination in order to ideally fit the requirements of the application. In protection schemes are duplex transmissions of permissive tripping, blocking commands and direct transfer tripping commands, for single or dual circuit lines, including breaker failure protection. Applications: e.g. 1 Permissive (Blocking) command + 3 Direct Commands e.g. 2 Permissive (Blocking) commands + 2 Direct Commands e.g. 3 Permissive (Blocking) commands + 1 Direct Command Four commands permit, for example, the protection of dual-circuit lines and direct tripping for reactor or breaker failure protection. There are four solid-state relay outputs. The tripping voltage can be 5 - 250VDC. They can be loaded up to 2 Amp. There are two more electro-mechanical relay contacts. The tripping voltage can be 5 - 250VDC. They can carry a maximum of 5 Amp. The operating time of these relays is 8 ms. Even though the relay contacts are of the ‘heavy-duty’ type, external precautions have to be taken for limiting the circuit current. All local and remote equipment features and parameters are selected and programmed by means of the user interface type HMI60O. All status-, configuration- und alarm-messages are also accessible from remote. An integrated event recorder and trip counters are provided (command start/stop events, alarm events and manipulation events are recorded and stored with time stamping via IRIG-B Synchronization interface, in a non-volatile memory). NSD600 requires no extra bandwidth in its default configuration because it uses the pilot of the corresponding PLC channel as guard signal and the speech band as command channel. Should the transi of up to 8 simultaneous commands not be sufficient, external teleprotection equipment - like ABB's NSD570 - can be connected in addition to the integrated NSDE00's. 9.2. Digital Protection Signaling Equipment For the digital protection signaling equipment ABB will offers the integrated teleprotection solution of the FOX515, OPTIF The OPTIF unit supports up to 4 optical teleprotection interfaces complying with IEEEC37.94 standard or with the proprietary FOX6plus compatible optical transmission protocol (ABB TPE) and an additional Ethernet bridge port on every unit. OPTIF has an access of 4x2 Mbit/s towards the FOX intemal cross connection backplane, PBUS, allowing for full 2 Mbit/s access per port. 1+1 end to end nx64 kbit/s path protection is supported, 10. Network protection ABB has applied traffic protection as well as redundancy on critical equipmentimodules to reach the highest possible reliability of the entire system 4KHD655165, en 25 ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 10.1. Protection of traffic in the network ABB implements traffic protection by arranging the FOX 515 multiplexer in 1+1 point-to-point link. In case of a fiber break or a failure of one of the optical aggregates of the FOX 515 multiplexer the traffic will automatically switch from the main to the protecting path. The applied 1+1 path protection scheme in this network will be SNCP protection on VC12 level 10.2. Protection of critical equipment units The FOX 515 equipment will be equipped with redundant power supply POSUM and redundant control unit COBUX. Control Processing Unit To protect the functions that are provided by the control unit on the NE level, an additional card is provided to act as redundant configuration. While one of the control units is active, the other unit provides a hot standby redundancy. The availability of the standby unit is monitored and its database is updated at regular intervals. Power supply The Power supply in the FOXS15 can be configured in a 1:N protection mode. Offered solution is a redundant configuration which caters to the needs of the specification ‘Our module supports load sharing on redundancy basis. i... if one power supply fails, other will be the active load driver and provides a stable DC power to other cards in the system. Protection of Cross Connect The FOX cross connect relies on a distributed architecture. Due to its architecture the cross connect of the FOX515 is resistant to single points of failure. It is also resistant to failures of ‘one of the redundant control units (COBUX). 11. Synchronization For the synchronization of the individual optical network elements always one FOX 515 multiplexer has to be defined as the master, while the other FOX515s behave as slaves. The offered SDH multiplexer FOX515 supports the SDH synchronization management that makes it possible to protect the synchronization network. Additionally the FOX 515 multiplexer will have the possibility of external synchronization input to connect later to a GPS receiver to synchronize the telecommunication equipment on the GPS signal. A respective cable can be added to the FOX515 shelf later on. By using the Synchronization Status Message (SSM) functionality, it is possible to protect the synchronization network in two ways; either by having different synchronization paths to the primary reference clock or to have a backup synchronization source. A protected synchronization scheme is proposed for this project. The synchronization signal will be taken from the existing FOX515 STM-1 network. The multiplexers will exchange SSM messages to elect the suitable source of the synchronization signal. For the FOX 515 equipment, the synchronizing clock can be slaved from any of the following sources: 4KHD655165, en 26 ‘ABB Ltd Project No. 016841 ‘An external 2048 kHz clock signal ASTM-1 aggregate signal A tributary signal 64 KBit/s or nx64 KBit/s An internal free running oscillator. The clock generation circuit selects its synchronization source according to a priority table that can be configured with the UCST. The control always selects the uncorrupted synchronization source with the highest priority. Avoidance of timing conflict in the network is possible by the use of Synchronization Status Messaging (SSM). The slave FOX 515 has three clock priorities. The first and the second clock priority comes always from the aggregates respectively from the 2Mbit/s interface, the third comes from the FOX 515 internal clock. ‘Synchronization Concept in this project: The clock from the supplied FOX515 equipment at LIONDE substation can be used as primary clock and the same will be further distributed to MAPA\ direction. 12. Customer benefits with ABB Solution 14.1. Secure integration with minimum interference Integration of new equipment into an existing network is not a straightforward affair. It requires ‘tremendous expertise and planning/co-ordination and knowledge of the existing system. Care has to be taken to ensure that the stability of the existing network is in no way affected as a result of equipment integration, NMS integration, synchronization and programming in existing stations. Based on years of experience, ABB has developed failsafe methods to carry out such integration. This ensures most secure integration with minimum down times. 14.2. Synchronization ‘Synchronization planning is an extremely important part of the system design with SDH networks in all networks more so in a telecommunication network of an Electrical Utility. Erroneous planning can lead to loss of synchronization, leading to system collapse. Care has to be taken in the design to ensure that time loops are avoided, primarily by the use of SSM Te a 1KHD655 165 en 30 Al ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 (Synchronization Status Messaging). Design has to factor limitations on the number of hops from the source clock and when the limit is exceeded regeneration needs to be considered. The system will be employ redundant sources for synchronization, thus enhancing overall stability of the system. 14.3. Network Management System Network Management System used as a powerful multi-user capable management system for the FOX Family Equipment. Foreign NEs can be supervised through alarm contacts. The graphical user interface starts from definable network displays (maps) from where the user can open displays of greater detail down to equipment port level. Context sensitive menus and an on-line help make the system easy to use. It is possible to create any number of network maps to create different views of the network, e.g. geographical, schematic, sub-network, etc. The system supports extensive alarm handling functions, element configuration and diagnostics capabilities and the ability to restrict access to management functions and network elements through definable user profiles. Interfaces towards higher-level management systems are supported 14.4. Utility Hardened - Fiber Optic System Family (FOX515) For Utility applications high reliability and service life is a key factor that is far more important than any other issue. in addition to electrically hostile substation environment, where electromagnetic interference's are a common phenomenon, the equipment may encounter extreme temperatures as well dusty conditions. The FOX515 is designed and proven to ‘operate with high level of reliability in such an environment, Type testing is no mere formality and thus is taken extremely serious by ABB. It not only ensures compliance with the relevant IEC standards, but also provides a platform to independently test the limits of the system design and reliability. Knowing the demanding ‘environment of the utility environment ABB takes the testing beyond the requirements of IEC standards. The FOX has been rigorously tested and attested by KEMA Netherlands. This enables us to guarantee and prove performance in the harshest of environment. The FOXS15 is a proven and utility hardened platform, serving the most important requirement of utilities - to operate with reliability. Its high level of technical innovation is centred on the utility applications rather than the public telecommunication industry. It is an extremely flexible platform and can be configured for a variety of applications, depending on customer needs such as: As SDH Terminal ‘As Access Multiplexer As integrated SDH & Access Multiplexer ‘As Cross Connect Multiplexer As xDSL Multiplexer As standalone Protection Signaling 4KHD655165, en Et) ABB Ld Project No. 0168441 15. Key differences between the ABB Fiber Optic Communicat System and a Standard Telecom Equipment The communication requirements in utility networks vary significantly from that of public telecom networks (PTT). The special requirements and characteristics of the utility network call for a Fiber Optic equipment specifically designed for such applications. The important design criteria for such equipment are direct interfacing with the electric power system and the process control system, operating with high reliability in the harsh environment of substations and to achieve a high level of transmission security. ‘ABB with its immense experience and expertise in the power and industrial sectors does understand such requirements very well. With this in-depth knowledge and traditional strength in the field of Protection & Power System Communication's, ABB has adapted its Fiber Optic ‘equipment to the special needs of the power utilities. ‘Some of the advantages of the ABB Fiber Optic Multiplexer FOX515 are examined below: Environmental Considerations Unlike public networks, the communication equipment for utilities is required to operate in an electrically hostile environment, where electromagnetic interference’s are a common phenomenon. The ABB Fiber Optic Communication Systems exceed the stringent EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) directives of IEC & EN. This ensures a very high level of system reliability, As telecom PCM Terminals are basically intended for PTT applications, they are not fully designed with EMC to IEC or other internationally accepted standards for power supply and all user interfaces. Thus it is not possible to achieve the same level of operational reliability. FOX515 - PDH up to SDH (STM-4) The high-performance Telecommunication Platform FOX515 integrates PDH (64kbit/s... 2Mbit's) and SDH (STM-1/4) in a_single equipment. Thus, FOX515 provides tremendous capacity for bandwidth-consuming applications such as LAN, video surveillance, ISDN etc. and integrates legacy services as well, A Sophisticated Redundancy Concept with distributed cross connect provides high reliability (no single point of failure). In addition, vital units — power supplies, control units are available in redundant configuration for higher security. ‘Summary of Main Features: - Capacity from 64kbit/s up fo STM-4 in one shelf. Therefore, less hardware for same functionality reduced spare part holding, optimized maintenance and training cost. PDH cross-connect capacity up to 128 x 2Mbit/s - Wide variety of interfaces available for data, voice teleprotection, IP and HDSL - One single Network Monitoring System for up to STM-4 level. = Reliability >50 years per board Conclusion From the above, it will be evident that ABB's FOX515 Communication System offers much more than standard telecom equipment off-the-shelf from conventional Telecom suppliers and is thus a superior choice for utility-based applications. 4KHD655165, en 34 A Customer ELECTRICIDADE DE MOZAMBIQUE Customer Project Number RURAL ELECTRIFICATION IN GAZA PROVINCE ABB Project Number 016841 Optical Power Budget Calculation AGB ABB Switzerandutd —_|rkHoesst67 | en Panenoan0t8 Calculation of Power Budget: max.
