unfamiliar surroundings.
Nowhere are manners more important that at the table. Table manners prevent diners from
being sloppy, offensive and boorish. They help to communicate respect to hosts and guests alike.
Table manners are not hard and fast rules; rather they are helpful guidelines in our social
relationships.
Table manners are the rules of etiquette used while eating, which may also include the
appropriate use of utensils. Different cultures observe different rules for table manners.
Table manner was introduced by the Europeans, then, it becomes a standard rule,
especially when dining together at a formal event or in a family’s banquet events.
If we are able to demonstrate good manners at the dinner table, actually it will indirectly
indicate our social quality, intellect and also our social ethics. Ethics in eating is not set up
unexpectedly. It must be done since the age of children and teenagers.
Good basic table manners are important because they ensure that both guests and hosts are
comfortable at the table. Table manners are mostly common sense.
Etiquette rules of Table Manner:
Sit up straight
Don't speak with your mouth full of food
Chew quietly, and try not to slurp
Keep bites small
Eat at a leisurely pace
Don't wave utensils in the air
Keep your elbows off the table
