In Cab Checks Load Security External Checks • Check driving controls, seat • Loaded correctly • Check underneath front of vehicle for fluid leaks • Check vehicle sitting square & not leaning to one side position, safety belt (if fitted) • Weight distributed • Exhaust: No excessive noise or smoke • Check engine oil, coolant, windscreen wash & fuel for • Tachograph: Correct hours, across axles levels & leaks • Landing legs fully raised & handle in position calibrated & speed limiter • Not overloaded • Check for sounds of air leaks or drop in air pressure plaque displayed • Trailer park brake operates correctly & is fully released • Load restrained & • Fuel cap seal in good condition & no leaks • ABS/EBS warning lights working contained • Air suspension correctly set • Side & rear reflective markings fitted, clean & in good • Instruments, gauges & • Number & marker plates in place, clean & in good condition condition warning devices working • Wipers, washers, horn, demister & temperature controls working correctly Vehicle Access • Steps undamaged • Good unworn surface Windows (Windscreen • Clean & Side Windows) • Good handholds • Undamaged • Proper access to catwalk & load area (if required) • Clean • Safe access for driver • View not obstructed e.g. by stickers, etc. • Safe access to Suzie Connections • Valid Tax/insurance discs present • Windscreen washers & wipers working correctly & in good condition Tyres, Wheels & Couplings • Tyres correctly inflated • Tyres correct tread depth Lights & Suzie Connections Indicators • Tyres undamaged: No abrasions, bulges or tears • All required air & electrical Suzie • Wheel nut indicators correctly aligned (if fitted) • Working connectors present & correctly located Mirrors • Road wheel nuts all in place, correctly fitted & secure • Clean • In good condition: No chaffing, • Cover side & rear blind spots (if fitted) stretching or any other damage • Road wheels in good condition • Correct colour • Semi-trailer is correctly located in fifth wheel & locked in • Clean & in good condition • ABS/EBS cable fitted (if required) position (if applicable) • All in place & undamaged • Correctly aligned • No air leaks from connectors • Drawbar coupling in place & good condition
