In September, 2018, a MEDLINE search of the terms “guided imagery” from the past 10 years yielded more than 125
results. This particular search was not narrowed to specific outcomes such as sleep, pain, and anxiety because most of the
studies addressed those topics in some way already, sometimes in combination. Review articles are indicated in bold.
