1 PPC – Imaje Logo Printer Interface
The interface sends a string consisting of the current date/time and the number of the glass plate from the
PPC to the Imaje Logo printers.

1.1 SETTINGS on Imaje Logo Printers

1.1.1 Printer message


The string that is sent from the PPC to the printers has the following format:

02 09 15 43 13 12 02492
Day Year Hour Sec Min Mon PlateNumber

To print the string on the glass, an external variable must be declared on the printer.
1. Select the message you want to add the string to (ASA)
2. Set the cursor to the position you want to add the string
3. From the menu choose „Variables“->“External“
4. Set the number of characters to „17“
5. Press enter, the string is now added to the printer message (*************)
6. Save the printer message

1.1.2 Printer RS 232 settings


The settings for the RS232 interface must be the same on the printer and on the „Moxa“ devices.
To set up the RS232 settings on the printer:

4. Use the following settings:

Speed: 9600
Parity: No
Stopbits: 1
Watchdogs: 3
RS232 Link: Standard
Simple Protocol: External Data

1.2 Moxa NPORT IA 5150 settings
The Moxa NPort IA5150 act as translator between Ethernet and RS232. They are configured via web
interface. Use the web browser on a HMI to do the following settings.

1.2.1 Standard settings


Imaje-Printer number 1

Interface partners:

Network connected with: PPC

IP Settings:
IP address: 192.168.74.173
Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway Address: 255.255.255.10

in the address field of the HMI web browser.

1.3 Electrical Connections

1.3.1 Connection between Moxa NPort and Ethernet Switch in FNC

Use Port 23 for patchcable connection between Rail switch RS20-2400M2M2 -A120
Connect/101.5 and Moxa at Imaje Logo Printer 1

Use Port 24 for patchcable connection between Rail switch RS20-2400M2M2 -A120
Connect/101.5 and Moxa at Imaje Logo Printer 2

1.3.2 Connection between Moxa Nport and Imaje Logo Printer


Use 9 Pin serial connector to connect to the Moxa serial port.

1.3.3 Power supply


Use proper power supply for each Moxa NPort 5150.
Specifications: 12 to 48 VDC, 360mA
Connect as specified on the Moxa Nport 5150.

1.4 Processes on PPC / Integrity Server


Check if the following processes are running, using the „wat“ command on the Integrity server:
„IMAJE1_IO“
„IMAJE2_IO“

If they are not running/not present, restart the using the following commands:
„wat /re imaje1_io“
„wat /re imaje2_io“
