Jollibee took down their delivery website temporarily after the government flagged
"vulnerabilities" in the system that could expose user data.

The NPC’s Commission’s Complaints and Investigation Division identified the breach to be “a
result of a proof-of-concept initiated by a marketing PR team representative of Jollibee, who made
representations to a domestic cybersecurity firm.”

The country's largest fast food operating said it was investigating its system and checking
security. And the company said "With this, we will be able to facilitate faster online delivery system
improvements and update security measures that will further strengthen data protection," and "We
assure the public that safeguarding the confidentiality of our customers’ personal data remains Jollibee
Foods Corp’s priority,"

By the time McDonald's put up its first store here, in 1981, it no longer offered anything new.

To address/resolve the ETHICAL ISSUES

a) Jollibee faces labor issues (contractualization)

Iconic Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee, prompted by ongoing labor issues, some of its
workers and patrons are calling on the public to boycott the restaurant last June 29, 2018.

Workers laid-off by employment agencies allegedly cut loose by Jollibee organized

protests outside the Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) main office in Pasig City and its warehouse
and commissary in Parañaque City.

In Facebook posts made by labor organization Defend Job Philippines yesterday, it asked
the public to “temporarily not patronize JFC affiliates and subsidiaries” to support the workers’
fight, a campaign they call #BEEastMode.

According to their statement JWS-Logistics wishes to clarify that the workers involved in
the recent protest remain regular employees of their service providers which are duly licensed
by the Department of Labor and Employment. The workers receive proper wages, complete
benefits, and have security of tenure under the care of their service providers.

They safeguard the welfare of their workers by engaging only with legitimate service
providers and ensure that the providers follow all laws and regulations.
They support the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with the
implementation of the law and ending ENDO. And remain compliant with all laws and
regulations.

They also coordinating with the proper authorities to peacefully address the situation as
soon as possible, and in accordance with the law.
