1. MR COMPACT plus: Cleaning intervals


To extend the cleaning intervals for the rollers in the developer and fixer racks, the MR
Compact plus is set to "stand by" operation prior to shipment, i.e. the main drive and the
exhaust fan are only active during a film cycle. Thus the formation of crystals in the racks
which are open at the top can be delayed. Mainly the rollers in the developer rack are affected.
As of SN 2046 the machine are shipped in this version.
In all the machines shipped before, this option can be retrofitted in order to enable this
operation. For this purpose a hardware extension is required in order to control the exhaust
fan of the MR Compact plus directly via the film processor. The time required for this additional
wiring work is approx. 1 hour. In machines with darkroom feed table the time is slightly longer.
In case of this modification the 24V power supply GS31 for the fan supply in the chemical
module is omitted. As of SN 2046 this power supply is no longer present in the machine.
The order number for the JOG CYCLE Kit is CM+9.5212.4450.0, this kit is available via the
Munich warehouse.

NOTE: The set-up DRIVEON N and EXH FILM must be entered again after every BASEINIT
of the film processor.

2. Compact plus / CDS300 : Service 105


The error S105 - film still in the upper part of the crossover, which occurs sporadically, was the
result of the a batch of Luvovcom gears of poor quality for the crossovers in the beginning of
the Compact plus series. Once this problem was solved, we found out that the clutch 500MG2
(CM+9.5110.4928.0) also contributed to this error. In the clutch the problem was caused by
the tolerances of the wrap spring and rust particles in the clutch. In case of slow turning the
contact was not always good enough. I.e. this problem only occurred when the film was
transported with the speed of the film processor in the upper section of the crossover. In case
of higher speeds this error did not occur. The clutch corresponding to the newest technical
standard can be identified by the yellow chromated housing (CM+9.5110.4928.0). The
clutch with the dark grey housing should only be used in the lower section of the crossover
(500MG1). Since November 1997, all the clutches shipped from Munich have the newest
correct technical standard.

3. Circulation of the film processor


The circulation in the film processors of the Compact plus and the CDS300 has been modified
to synchro-motors. Thus the circulation corresponds in type and version to the circulation in
the MR Compact plus.
Standard introduction in the Compact plus 5110/100 will be with SN 7630 and as of SN 7632
CDS 300 - 5114/100 as of SN 3099

4. Compact plus / CDS300: Service 105 or film jam at the developer entrance
The guide plate on the guide unit of the developer rack causes film jam!
This refers to the:
Compact plus 5110/100 as of SN 7526 and CDS 300 5114/100 as of SN 3066
An additional guide should prevent that upon film transport into the developer rack the film
splashes chemicals into the area of the steam gate. By the geometry of the plate, however, it
may happen that a film with curling tendency hits against the front of the guide plate and jams.
As an immediate remedy use the old guide CM+9.5210.8505.2
The Compact plus 5110/100: SN 7651, SN 7653, as of SN 7666 and CDS 300 5114/100:
SN3111, as of SN 3119 will be delivered again with the old guide until the geometry of the new
guide plate has been optimised.

5. Humidifier 5110 / 510 and 5114 / 510: Modified mounting position:

Referring to the:
Compact plus 5110/100 as of SN 7523,
CDS300 5114/100 as of S 3065 and
MR Compact plus 5110/200 as of series
production start.
Due to the second replenisher pump in the MR
Compact plus the installation position of the
humidifier option had to be changed. The
humidifier mounting position was turned by 90°
and mounted on a separate mounting bracket.
This mounting bracket is connected on the
chassis of the chemical module by means of two
quick-release locks. -Simple opening for
maintenance purposes-.
Upon subsequent installation of a humidifier these
different mounting positions must be considered.
The humidifiers 5110/510: as of SN 1248 and SN
1243; 5114 / 510 as of SN 1060 will be delivered
with an additional mounting bracket. For
humidifier already shipped, this additionally
required bracket can be ordered under
CM+9.5110.9040.0 and the respective
instructions have the order number
DD+DIS049.97 D,E,F.

6. Stepper Motor Board CM+8.9499.3230.6: Hex switch for address setting


New manufacturer for the hex switch for the adjustment of the IO bus address!
Due to quality fluctuations of the hex switch a new manufacturer was found. Error message
Service 51, 52 or similar messages, i.e. that the board was not detected in the self-test
routine, occurred frequently in production as well as in the filed. This error may occur with all
p.c. boards which use the hex switch for the adjustment of the IO bus address.
Since there is no manufacturer with a hex switch compatible with our hex switch the
addresses must now be adjusted according to a conversion table.

P.c. boards with the new hex switch will always be shipped with the table for the adjustment.
For this purpose an enclosure is added to the shipment and there is an additional label on the
p.c. board.

7. Humidifier 5230/510 and 5234/510: Additional mounting bracket

Up to now there was no possibility included


for correct mounting of the humidifier option
in the C version of the HT530 E.O.S. From
now on there is an additional mounting
bracket for the humidifier. This bracket is
included in the accessory box of the
humidifier with type 5230/510 as of SN2441
and with 5234/510 as of SN 1051. For
humidifiers shipped before, or already
installed in the field the bracket can ordered
as a spare part. Order number for the
mounting bracket: CM+9.5230.1640.0.

8. Magazines: Scratches on the last film


in order to avoid scratches on the last film in a magazine, the Mamoray magazines have a
fleece coating since mid-1997.
This fleece can be retrofitted in the filed. The fleece can be ordered from the Munich
warehouse in the following sizes:
