Important Notice
As we are already aware that due to unprecedented situation created by COVID – 19, the Summer
vacations for the BTech, BArch and MCA programs have been advanced vide No./NITRR/2020/Q-2
dated 04/04/2020. As per the scheme of studies of NIT ordinance applicable to 3 rd Semester onwards
for above students, the BTech 4th and 6th Semester students have to undergo Industrial Visit/Training
during this period. These Visit and Training are evaluated in 5 th and 7th semesters of these students and
carry one and two credits, respectively. Unfortunately, in the wake of COVID-19 it is neither possible
nor advisable for our students to attend the Visit/Training in person.

It is, therefore, decided to carry out the above Visit/Internship/Training, replacing them with online
activities which the students of these semesters can take up online from their places in the following
manner: -

1. The Head of the Departments may please find the suitable ONLINE Internship/ Industrial
Training programs which may be available with web-portals like ‘https://internshala.com/’,
‘https://spoken-tutorial.org/’, etc. HoD and faculty members can find out more such platform
and share it with the students.
2. Relevant Courses available on various online platforms like SWYAM, NPTEL lecture, NPTEL-
SWYAM should be explored and shared with students whocan go through these lectures to
augment their knowledge. Care must be exercised to offer such advance course for which the
student has the pre-requisite but which are not part of curriculum of the Branch/Discipline.
HoD and faculty members can find out more such platform and share it with the students.
3. The students should be asked to obtain permission from Head/Faculty I/c Training to opt for
such Internship/Course before hand. The evaluation of these Internship/course will be as per
prevailing practice, i.e., on the basis of student submitting a written report followed by Seminar
and/or viva-voce in 5th and 7th semester.

Please note that list of courses should be provided by HoD to students in consultation with
Prof (I/C) placement matching with the needs of industry. The student must be allowed to opt
any one of the above 1 and 2 only with the prior approval of the Head of the Department. The online
Internship/ Training must be completed within the stipulated period of Summer vacation, i.e.,
up to 31st May 2020. It is required to share the list of these courses by the evening of 15th of this month.

This has the approval of the competent authority.
