DIGITAL NATIVE
An individual who was born after the
widespread adoption of digital technology.
The term digital native doesn't refer to a
particular generation. Instead, it is a catch-
all category for children who have grown up
using technology like the Internet, computers
and mobile devices.
What is ICT?
Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) deals with the use of
different communication technologies
such as mobile phones, telephone,
internet, etc. to locate, save, send, and
edit information.
About ICT?
When we make a video call . . .
We use the internet
When we send a text or make a call. . .

It is no secret that there is huge
growth of ICT-related jobs around the
country, one of which are the BPO
centers.
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
What is Outsourcing?
Outsourcing is a practice in
which an individual or company
performs tasks, provides services
or manufactures products for
another company.
BPO
"Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a subset of
outsourcing that involves the contracting of the
operations and responsibilities of specific business
functions or processes to a third-party service
provider. It is typically categorized into back office
outsourcing - which includes internal business functions
such as human resources or finance and accounting,
and front office outsourcing - which includes customer-
related services such as contact center services.
What is BPO?
BPO is the process of hiring another company
to handle business activities for them ranging
from data processing, back office support,
recruitment, payroll, sales, customer service
or technical support, to telemarketing and
the like.
BPO vs Call Center
A BPO that is contracted outside a
company's country is called offshore
outsourcing."
BPO vs Call Center
A Call Center, on the other hand, is a
form of BPO that deals with inbound and
outbound calls providing sales, customer
service, technical support, telemarketing,
& phone surveys for their clients.

You might ask why do they (the
clients) hire another company to
do these business activities for
them, especially for offshore
outsourcing? The main answer to
that question is "Cost Savings".
ICT in the Philippines

According to the 2013 edition of


Measuring the Information Society by the
International Telecommunication Union,
there are 106.8 cellphones per 100
Filipinos in the year 2012.
That would mean. . .

that for every 100 Filipinos you meet,


there is a high chance that they have
cellphone and approximately for the
seven of them, they have two.

In a data gathered by the Annual Survey


of Philippines Business and Industries,
and NSO in 2010, the ICT industry
shares 19.3% of the total employment
population here in the Philippines.

the World” of 2013 places two cities from
the Philippines in the top 1 to 10 spots.
The study was conducted using Instagram,
