OML751 TESTING OF MATERIALS Syllabi

This document outlines a course on testing of materials. The course covers various destructive and non-destructive testing methods over 5 units. Unit 1 introduces materials testing and analysis of results. Unit 2 covers mechanical tests including hardness, tensile, impact, bend, and creep tests. Unit 3 discusses non-destructive tests such as liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, radiographic, and ultrasonic tests. Unit 4 examines material characterization techniques including microscopy and diffraction methods. Unit 5 addresses additional tests like thermal, thermomechanical, and chemical analyses. The overall goal is for students to identify suitable testing techniques and understand applications and limitations.
