Closing Remarks
kasamahan at panauhin, magandang umaga sa ating lahat. Lubos ang aking pasasalamat sa lahat
na narito upang tunghayan ang taunang selebrasyon sa buwan ng Nobyembre.
November of every year is National Observance of the Filipino Values Month which aims to
mobilize all Filipinos for nation-building through the practical exercise of human values in our
daily lives as citizens and to awaken all to the power of these values in achieving the individual
and national goals. The theme of this year celebration is “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin Susi sa
Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa. It emphasizes
the important and critical role of the family in strengthening Filipino values and developing
individuals who are pro God, pro-people, pro-country and pro-nature especially in this digital
age.
Our ancestors have taken the time to keep these values alive and enriched. Its about time we
take to pass it on.
This celebration is a strong proof despite having multiple Filipino values, we all go back to a
single core value, kapwa (togetherness), which establishes a sense of community. Kapwa gives
Filipinos, who share their culture and memories with each other, a sense of identity. It can be
used to give voice to organizations that are fighting for certain advocacies. At its peak, it’s an
instrument for social change.
While it seems like values are beginning to get lost as we transition into more fast paced
lifestyles, it is important to remember that values are only truly lost when they are neglected
Immerse yourself in a community where you can actively and continuously practice kapwa and
before you know it, you’ll slowly begin to embody the rest of the Filipino values.
Lagi nating isipin ang pagpapahalaga sa mabuting asal na siyang gabay tungo sa matagumpay at
masayang pamumuhay.
Magandang umaga sa lahat, nawa’y pagpalain tayo ng poong Maykapal.
