STORYTIME!!!

We all love to hear stories and this is one story I love to tell.

My call-up letter for NYSC (National youth service corps) was received first with
excitement and then it turned into tears.

Benue state???
I had filled in Akwa-Ibom, Enugu, Kano, and Benue. Everything in me wanted
Akwa-Ibom, it was my first choice and Benue was my last choice (you know the
slot you fill to fulfil all righteousness), Well here I was with a letter reading
deployment to Wanunne Camp, Benue State.

After the tears had dried up, I packed my bags and off I was to Benue state. I
truly did enjoy camp, I wasn’t expecting to, but somehow I did.

But my stay in camp got me thinking: I had gone through Nursery, primary,
secondary school and then to the university and through it all, I stayed heavily
dependent on my parents. Everything had to come from them, to make my hair,
buy clothes, pay for stuff, buy food, everything! There were uncles and family
relatives too, but long story cut short, I had never earned a dime for myself prior
to youth service and I knew that had to change.

I returned after camp before reporting to my place of primary assignment and

told my parents that hence forth, they shouldn’t worry about taking care of my
finances and as long as money was concerned they should forget they had a
daughter.

Mum took this news with some level of discomfort, wondering how I’d pull
through and she wasn’t the only worried one, I was too! I mean, allawee was just

3
N19,800 for a month and let’s be honest, you can hardly get by on that in a
strange land and without family.

But then I found something: it was the Art of content creation. I paid to learn
how to create content and become a content creator. I went through 3 different
classes and afterwards, I learnt to monetize this skill and let’s say it’s been a
beautiful journey since then.

I have mastered the art of content creation and have gone ahead to make money
doing so. Now, I teach people how to also recreate these results.

NOTE:
This is not a proper book but a compilation of a content creation boot camp
organized by A Better you and the testimonies from the participants have been
mind-blowing. I trust that as you go through this book and implement what you
learn, your testimonies will be sent to me too.

My name is precious Chika Emmanuel, I am a content creator and the Founder

of A Better You (a personal and skill development platform) and I’ll be your
guide to learning the art and business of content creation.

4
DAY 1.

Who's ready to demystify the art of content creation?

I'd love to describe content as the blood/fuel of the internet, everything you see,
read, watch, hear on the internet is content.

There are two stakeholders in the internet and they are the content creators and
the content consumers.
But we have content that sells and content that doesn't

Well we're already narrowing it down but content is anything that's on the
internet, and content creation is the art of creating those things

A girl uploading her picture is giving content, it just may not sell, you that's
typing "good morning my neighbours, the rest of you should go and collect yours
from your neighbour”, is creating content, it won't just sell
The content that sells is what we're here to learn today

A content creator is anybody that creates content of any type. But those who
bear the title officially are those that have mastered the art of creating content
that sell for their clients or their businesses.

TYPES OF CONTENT AND THEIR TOOLS.

 TEXT (CONTENT WRITING)

 AUDIO (PODCASTING)
 VIDEO
 GRAPHICS

5
1. TEXT CONTENT

We've all seen people that communicate thoughts, teach lessons, and share
stories, etc. through writing yeah? They’re creating content in form of text. It is
called content writing.
People believe that creating content is about writing, that's not true.
That's just one type of content
Most writers fall here. .we called them content writers

Content writing is the art of writing and editing content for the internet. This
includes articles, scripts and blog posts.

TOOLS FOR CONTENT WRITING

Google keep (an app) that allows you write and it saves to the cloud
automatically. I use this slot to gather my thoughts and ideas, so they don't fly
away. Anything you type in this app is automatically saved.

Grammarly: This is a spelling and grammar checking site. It helps check your
grammar and spelling leaving your content in its most optimized state.

While everyone must not be a text content creator, we all need a basic
knowledge of creating written content and so I introduce to you, the SPA model
of content writing

What is the SPA model of content writing?*

Story
Principle
Action

6
Every great written piece has a story, a principle and an action. A good piece
starts with a story! Then you share the Principe in that story, Followed by the
action you want your audience to take.

Let me give an example from my latest post.

BEGINNING OF STORY

It's a Sunday morning and I'm working on a project for y'all (wait for it) but I
keep smiling and sometimes even laugh out loud, so let me share with y'all.

Secondary school had us scouting for nicknames and at some point, it felt like
there was a silent competition for who had the best nickname.

What could I coin from precious or Chika?

Preshy? Too basic, NO!
PrettyPresh? I tried to have sense, NO!
Prisky? My mum said it was the name of her dog when she was younger, NO
Nothing could even come of Chika

And so I went for PINSTAR

Please don't ask me how that name came about, I don't know, I just know it
started from P and I was a star.... Viola! Nickname activated.
What's the meaning of the name? I was asked severally.

I had to come up with something,

I told them it was Latin for "One in a million" and even went ahead to explain it
so it makes sense.

Only 1 person disbelieved me, the rest of them accepted that name and boom!

7
I was called Pinstar till I graduated.

Now I'm thinking, how did I even believe myself and make others believe me?
What was I even thinking?
Latin my foot
Pinstar, really?
Let me take this time to apologize to y'all

I remembered this last night when an old friend called me Pinstar and I couldn't
stop laughing!
Now, I just wanted to gist my Facebook fam but even as I write, I picked a lesson
from this and I'll share.

END OF STORY

BEGINNING OF PRINCIPLE

You really are what you call yourself.

People aren't patient enough to go through knowing who you are and naming
you appropriately. So they'll pick whatever is given to them.

You allow one person call you slow? The whole world calls you slow until you
become slow.

People call you cunning, excuse me, we don't really know you so it's normal to
call you the name that has been made available.

Who do you want to be?

Who are you?
What do you want to be known for?

8
Amongst many things, I have seen the role positive influence plays in raising a
healthy generation. I am a product of the right influence and I want to produce
so many others, so I call myself "Influential Woman".
I'm amazed at the number of persons that now call me that!

Now, I am not saying name yourself, in fact the lesson here goes far beyond just
the names.

It is what do you believe about yourself?

How do you see yourself?
How do you treat yourself?
What do you say about yourself?
END OF PRINCIPLE

BEGINNING OF ACTION

Remember, If you don't tell people who you are, they will believe whatever is
told to them by anybody. So take the lead!

Dear Friend, what do you call yourself?

END OF ACTION

To a better you,
Precious Chika Emmanuel

2. AUDIO CONTENT

WHO HAS EVER LISTENED TO A PODCAST?

Well then! A podcast is content created in form of a Digital audio. It is an audio

recording of discussions around any topic and is designed for listening. It is
usually released in episodes.

The number one tool I recommend for easy podcasting is Anchor, it allows you
record and edit the podcast, and then lets you host it on the app and your
listeners can listen to it through the app. It is quite easy to use and most readily
available.

Another software for Podcasting is Audacity and lame encoder. It allow you
record and edit the podcasts and then you can host on soundcloud, itunes,
google podcasts etc.

Wavepad is another app you can use.

and I'll say creating content is just knowing your strength and deploying it
through the best form.
Podcasting is the best medium for people who do better speaking

All you need is

 An idea (Script, topic)
 Your voice,
 Recording device (in-built microphone or external microphone)
 An app/software for hosting
 An earpiece/headphone.
 An artwork for your podcast (can create this using canva)

12
An idea can be sourced around the niche you have chosen to podcast about.
You’ll learn how to source for topic as you read further.

STEPS TO PUBLISHING YOUR FIRST PODCAST

Choose a niche
Pick a topic
Record your podcast:
A short intro that acts as a bumper to introduce the podcast and what it is about
Edit it
Share the link on social media platforms to have your first listeners.

You can podcast about anything at all. For a start, keep your podcast short,
entertaining and enlightening.

13
3. VIDEO CONTENT

Video content simply means giving out content in form of videos. Be it a live
video, an animated video, a voice over PowerPoint video, Etc.

Some people are great at filming themselves, others learn to do it.

Some use apps to create videos in form of animation or other video creating
apps.

Guys, every form of content is important and will help you achieve your aim if
you deploy it well and brand yourself properly. Now, back to video content
creation, there are a wide range of tools to use for videos but I’ll share the easy-
to-use tools.

A Camera (smartphone or video camera): this is used if you have to make a

live video of or a group of people talking, carrying out an activity, or showing
your audience to do something.

Inshot, quik and kinemaster are the two apps I recommend for editing
videos.

Inshot is my best, you can make use of inshort to trim videos, add subtitles, edit
out parts, add pictures or merge videos, You can literally shoot and edit a movie
using inshot, and even it’s free version is a lot of value.

Microsoft Powerpoint: this is one way I create videos too. It’s easy to use
and allows you watch your slides as you record them. Ill make more exposition
on this when I teach on online course creation.

Animation software: Animation softwares allow you create vidoes using

animated characters. There are various types of animation, ranging from

14
whiteboard animation, to 3d animations . some of the softwares/apps I use for
animation are Plotagon story, Powtoon, Toonly, Videoscribe(my favourite), and
w lot of others out there that I don’t use yet.
Some are paid and other have free versions.

You can write to us with the email or number you see at the end of this book if
you are interested in learning animations.

Compressors: these are used to reduce the size of videos so they can be easy
to upload and download by your audience. Handbrake is one software that
works and still retains good quality. Video Panda works too, this is an app and
so can be used on your smartphone

Just as you can podcast about anything, you can make videos on anything:
DIY’s(Do it yourself), Tutorials, discussions, entertainment, education, etc.

After your video has been created and edited, it can be uploaded to the social
media platform you make use of: YouTube, instagram, Facebook.

15
4. GRAPHIC CONTENT

Graphic content is visual content. This type of content is indispensable.... Every

other content sort of depends on this especially for publicity and detailing.

Visual contents are created on a daily basis from flyers, design covers, to
infographics for blogs, websites and social media.

Also graphic design includes editing od pictures to use for a purpose

Graphic designers are the guys in charge of graphic content.

For you and me or any other person that needs to lean graphics just to get
through their contents I recommend Canva but here are tools that can be used
to create graphic contents. All of these apps/software requires that you learn
how to use them however, canva is an easy-to-learn and use app and that’s why
I recommend it for those that need it for basic social media use.

Ill also share sites you can get quality images to use for your designs.

 Photoshop: to edit pictures

 Instaquote: to make quotes
 Instagram edit: to edit pictures
 Pinterest: to source images
 Pexels.com : to source images
 Adobe lightroom: to edit pictures

HOW TO SOURCE FOR AND NEVER RUN OUT OF CONTENT IDEAS

The first thing I need you to know is CONTENT is everywhere. Everything you
see, hear and feel can lead you to creating amazing contents but you can’t talk
about everything you see, hear or feel.
You have to niche down

You can't be talking about clothes today and medicine tomorrow

You can't be making videos about hairstyles today and tomorrow you're sharing
videos about politics tomorrow

No, you won't build an audience that way, and you'll confuse everybody
Blogging about food today and religion next week

Personally I create content for my brand around personal development and self-
esteem, they're two topics but closely related

So I may have opinions on politics, but that's not the business of my audience
so I won't share with them

Now sourcing for content topics is quite easy and I'll share all my hacks with
you.*

1. Use Quora

Go on Google and type the main topic you want to niche down to in a question
and add quora behind it.

Let’s use relationship as an example. So the Niche is Relationship, we pick a

topic that is quite popular

18
Start with the most obvious question.

How can I make a relationship work? or anything at all

Add quora behind it like this:

How can I make a relationship work? Quora

It will give you your answers and then show you other treads,

Now those treads are questions people have also been asking, copy all the
questions and further break them down!

Get ideas from the answers and go down again to the "RELATED QUESTIONS
SECTION" and you will see the questions that always follow after, a whole lot of
them pick them and create your content around them.

Some of those questions are long, now this is where *title generator* comes in
So you have catchy titles. The list method works perfectly here: 5 ways to xxxx
2. Social media comment section

You'd be amazed at the topics you can get from the comment section. Go to the
comment section of any content by someone in your niche(preferably the guys
that have gone ahead) you'll see the questions people ask them there, pick them.
Up and you've gotten more topics

19
3. Google Trend
Google trend is a website by Google that shows you popular search from Google.
This gives you an insight to what people are looking for. You can sign up on
Google trend and they'll send you notifications about the trends in the niche you
selected

4. Host an *ask me anything on "your niche

You can do this using your WhatsApp and social media status and get people to
ask you questions on that niche, and boom! Topic ideas

CONTENT CURATION

You must not create everything you need to share, you'll burn out.
Content curation is the art of sourcing content around your niche and sharing
it with your audience.

When you share a video, you're curating.

When you quote someone, you are curating.
When you share the link to anything, you're are curating.

FIRST RULE OF CURATION IS

Give glory to whom glory is due especially with written content.

The other forms of content usually have a seal on them (voice, faces, logo etc)

Don't share something someone wrote and write copied,

That's a sin in the world of content creation,
Reference whoever created the content.

20
THE POWER OF STORYTELLING IN CONTENT CREATION

Storytelling is everything, I want you all to repeat this!

Well Goodnews,
I taught a class previously with another amazing storyteller and the class was
compiled.

I'll share a link to get the resource.

An entire masterclass valued at N3,500, But I'll be giving you all for free for
being an amazing audience.
Get the A-Z of storytelling here

http://abetteryou.com.ng/trainings

Finally! How can you make profits from content? I'll list out the ways i earn
through content creation

1. Content writing for blogs, brands and websites. (compiling of e-books from
teachings, and copy writing)

2. Social media management

3. Sales of content calender (A content calender is a frame work and detailed

content strategy that enables a brand follow a steady flow of content and never
run out of ideas)

4. Consulting

5. Sales (for those into specific businesses). Content is how you communicate
with your audience. You communicate well, they trust you and give you
their money.

21
SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM OPTIMIZATION

Content optimization is I'll quickly share what platforms are best suited for what
type of content.

So you don't pour so much effort into a platform with the inappropriate content
type. It can be frustrating.
Not every type of content should be shared on every platform*

You can absolutely post different things on different platforms or if you want to
stay consistent with what you post, then you can repurpose your contents.

Now there are MAJORLY 5 platforms. There are others but these are the
highest ranking platforms.
So in no particular order:

FACEBOOK

Facebook is best suited for medium length videos, and text content.

The text (written content is usually followed by pictures) but Facebook allows
you to post written content with or without pictures.

So written contents and videos with medium length are good to go for
Facebook.

That's why writers, teachers, thought leaders, and coaches, Community leaders
should leverage very well on Facebook.

If you're into knowledge business and you do lots of writing, then Facebook
should be your friend.

22
INSTAGRAM

This platform is most suited for short high resolution videos and pictures,
quotes and stories.
Though they now have IGTv that allows you post longer videos, they’re still most
suited for shorter videos and pictures.
If your business thrives on what your clients can see, carry your load and sit on
Instagram. Pictures run the show.
So bakers, fashion designers, material and Ankara
vendors, photographers, artists, etc. Please make best use of Instagram.

YOUTUBE

UNIVERSAL ACADEMY, EVERYTHING VIDEOS.

Video content creators, YouTube is your friend!
If you teach, or train, or show people how to DIY, from long to medium
length, down to short videos, YouTube is the answer.

LINKEDIN

This is the serious platform, Only professional contents are allowed here, mostly
written content, Job news, company news, Information, news, etc.

TWITTER

This platform is always bustling with news, gists, blog posts, quotes, gifs. So if

you're in gist or news business Eg, showbiz, blogging, new casting, town crying

etc Please relocate there.

23
CONTENT REPURPOSING

It simply means, restructuring a content from one platform to fit into another
platform.

Repurposing means, if I create written content and post on Facebook and want
to share instagram, I can either record a video saying the same things on that
content or share it into summarized quotes (graphics, remember pictures are
allowed on IG)

You can do this with some other platforms but if it's for business, please find the
platform best suited for your business and build there.

However leave a print on every other platform just give all our best effort to the
platform best suited for your business.

24
BUILDING A BRAND

A brand is an identity of a product or service, kept Consistent. It's what people

perceive about your product or service

Coca-Cola is a brand, they make you think coke makes people happy with the
ads on share happiness and we've bought it, whether it's true or not.

When we see the logo, we know,

When we see the bottle, we know.

We know their colours

Because they've stayed consistent

1. A brand needs a NAME

There are two types of brands: A Personal and Business brand

A personal brand is a brand that represents yourself and a business brand

is a brand that represents your business.

So your brand needs a Name: Some people are doing business and they do not
have a name or they're constantly changing names.

For personal brand, you can use 2 names (perfect) and 3 but no more than that.

25
Then we're building a brand via social media so review the names on your social
media pages.

Those of you not using your name as wanted on social media, please change it.

Then open a business page if you don't have already

Action point: review the name of your business or the name you want to use for
your brand.

2. A brand needs a COLOUR

A brand has a colour(s)

Don't just pick a colour because you love it, Let it have a meaning and let it apply
to your brand or business.

These colours will be used for your logo, theme, website, templates etc.

Let it mean something, go here to learn colours and their meanings:

https://www.canva.com/learn/color-meanings-symbolism/

3. A brand needs a LOGO

The most important thing is to have a logo, It should also have a meaning. We
should see your logo and know it’s your brand.

26
Every brand needs a Logo
You can make simple logos with Logo makers or Canva, Or you pay a graphic
designer

So far:

GET A NAME
SELECT YOUR COLOUR(S)
CREATE A LOGO (WITH YOUR COLOURS)

BUILD A PAGE ON FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM* (OR YOU CAN USE YOUR

PERSONAL PAGE AND MOVE TO A PAGE WHEN YOU'VE BEGAN TO BUILD
AN AUDIENCE) I'll tell you why :it's easier for people to accept your friend
request or follow you back than follow your page, So build an audience on your
personal page then move. That's the method I employed

4. Every brand needs a STORY

When we hear of brands, what connects us to them is the story they've told.

Toms told us a story

Coca-cola told us a story
Fela Durotoye told us a story
Elisha Mamman told us a story

Tell a Story and let it stay consistent

We need to know why you started the brand /business!

What inspired you, what's the pain point?

What's the problem you want to solve?

27
You tell the full story as a post..... Engage that post very well...

Then put a bit if it in every post, advert, and let it guide your content. Your vision
and mission should correlate with your brand story.

USE THE STORYTELLING GUIDE TO UNDERSTAND THE ART OF

STORYTELLING PROPERLY.

5. A brand needs CONSISTENCY

Especially when you start building a brand, please stay consistent with your
content
Develop a content style and Frame work

I already taught on the SPA (Story Principle Action) model

That's the one I recommend for everyone.

Show up daily until you’re established and then keep showing up.

6. Next thing a brand needs is VISUALS & HUMANITY

Be visual: every brand needs quality photos, photos that tells us about you, or
the business. Invest in good photoshoots, be it smartphone photography or
studio pictures.

Take many professional pictures of yourself and business related elements. Do

not share dull pictures.

28
Be Human: being professional doesn’t mean becoming a robot. Know when
to connect emotionally with your audience, when to share clean jokes, when to
ask questions that indicate care, and when to be serious. You are dealing with
humans and so you should be human.

7. A brand needs a WEBSITE

A website is not just a symbol of authority, it is a means of value added services

to your audience and clients. It hosts all the information about your brand and
gives a complete insight to your brand.

A website has now been made easy to create using wordpress.

Follow this link to create a website step by step:

https://www.youtube.com/user/Conutant

29
SOCIAL MEDIA BIO REVAMP

A social media bio is your audience first impression about you and your brand.
A well crafted page and bio is 50% confirmation that you know what you're
doing to any audience

ELEMENTS OF AN OPTIMIZED SOCIAL MEDIA BIO

CASE STUDY: INSTAGRAM (you can apply everything here to Facebook and
other platforms)

1. BRAND NAME/USERNAME:
This should be your name for a personal brand and your business name for a
business.

2. PROFILE NAME:
On instagram, your profile name is the first line in your profile. Your profile
name should describe what you do amd what your business is about.

30
3. BIO and CATEGORY
This is where you give a clear description of what you offer, what your business
provides.
The category is supposed to reflect what your brand is about in general.
Every Brand needs a website and it should be on your bio too
Then your bio description should represent you or what you do

3. PROFILE PICTURE:
This should be a high resolution picture of you (personal brand) your
logo(business)

4. HIGLIGHTS:
These are the features in circle shapes just below your bio. It allows you file in
your important details of your brand. It serves as an instagram website.
Highlight your about, products and services, discounts, etc.

31
5. BRAND STYLE
This is where you brand colours and templates come into play. Your page should
have an organized feel to it. Use the same set of colours, have a Canva template
you use on a particular roll.

6. CREATE AMAZING CONTENTS:

From videos, to animations, to graphics to pictures, all forms of content that are
best optimized on instagram should be used. Also optimize the use of all
features on instagram.

32
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

Social media management is the process of creating, analysing, arranging,

scheduling and engaging with content on social media platforms.

A social media manger is a person that manages social media pages for a brand.
This person is in charge of creating, curating, analysing, arranging, scheduling

HOW TO LAND YOUR FIRST CLIENT(S)

There are 2 ways,

Start with a free page. The free page you'll mange for someone is so you can
have a reference because people will always ask for previous jobs you've done

Then,

34
1. Declare interest via DM

This means, searching through social media pages of people doing business you

HOW TO CREATE ONLINE COURSES

If I asked you what you can teach anyone from sleep, what would it be? Do you
know why I asked what you can teach if you're woken up from sleep?

Because if you have to create an online course or any digital product, it has to
be something you're quite knowledgeable about

So some of you can teach on how to cook, sew, style yourself, etc

They are all things people are willing to learn, I need you to know that there's
no knowledge that is a waste.

People go online to learn how to boil egg,

You can cook jollof rice and you take it for granted?

When I learnt to how to use PowerPoint to create videos and I used into create
a video content, I felt it was just a simple thing everyone already knew, Little
did I know it was hot cake and not many people know about something that has
been in existence for long.

My dm was filled with “how did you create the videos”.

Well I taught people for free, but even if I had put a price to It, they would have
paid.

I need y'all to know that NO KNOWLEDGE IS A WASTE. There's someone

willing to pay for what you know and never forget that.

Now how do we create an online course?

You need a Topic first, it should be catchy, Use title generator if you have too.
Think of what you can teach and generate catchy topics from them.

37
Look at the things you can do effortlessly,

Skills you've gained,

Classes you've attended,

And topics you're passionate about,

The next thing is OUTLINING YOUR COURSE

Why should you outline your course?

It makes it easy for you to understand what you're doing and gives you a good
flow.

So outline the subtopics you'd teach, like how I did with this class, where I gave
you a table of content.

It allows your audience understand the flow and gives you a head of what to do
per page, slide etc.

Go on udemy to validate your course idea and check the outlining of the courses
that share similar ideas with yours, it will help you in creating your outline.

3 tools to create your online courses

1. A slide tool (Microsoft power point or canva) I prefer the former

2. A screen recorder ( I recommend AZ screen recorder)

3. A microphone (you can start with the inbuilt one in your phones and laptops)
or get the blue-yeti microphone.

38
It's advisable to break it down into these subtopics. So if you have 10 subtopics,
each can be 5 minutes or 6 minutes each. Even 10 minur6

But make sure to not say gibberish because you want to meet a 10 minuets
mark.

Do an extra research on the topic you're about to teach on.

Everything is on the internet but because they're too much information out
there, people will pay you if you gather that information, and simplify it for them

You don't have to do something new, you just have to do something better.

You can use the Tips I gave you on sourcing content to source topics for your
digital product (e-book or online course)

And an online course can comprise of pdf’s, audios (podcasts) and videos.

In fact when you give an online course and it has all 3, you've won
people's heart.

So how do you use powerpoint to record slides?

Now after you've outlined your course.

You create content around it.

Use power point to create slides.

Let each subtopic take as many slides as it needs to.

But make sure you put the power points.

So each slide has a header and a text box where you can use the highlights or
numbering method to list out what you'd be talking about or explaining under
each subtopic

Eg.

Main TOPIC: A-Z of content creation

39
Outline

1. What is content creation?

2. Types of content creation

3. Tools for creating content

Slide one.

WHAT IS CONTENT CREATION?

• Content creation is the art of creating various types of content for XXX now,
you can stop here and while recording, explain in detail

Imagine creating a presentation for your seminar and using your slides, you're
presenting the seminar.

Now instead of standing and presenting to a group of people, you can record
yourself presenting (explaining your PowerPoint) and after you're done, save it
as a video

Step 1: Go to slide show,

Click on record slide show and begin explaining. After you explain a slide, use
the next button to move to the next slide

40
Step 2: After you're done you go to file,

Click on export,

Select create a video

Name your video and save it

Now by doing this, you’d have created videos you can compile into a course.

A screen recorder.

This is also quite easy.

You use this to record courses that needs you to share your screen or show your
audience step by step procedure to doing something from your screen.

For smartphones, use AZ recorder or anyone that works for you. For
laptops, Use Camtasia

41
You need the microphone just to voice your recordings

If you don't have a microphone, not to worry, Use an earpiece with a good
mouthpiece but stay clear of noisy environment and keep it at a distance so you
don't breathe into it

HOW AND WHERE TO SELL YOUR COURSES

1. Free/Organic method

2. Paid/ advertising method

The free method includes giving out a lot of content around your topic to build
an audience. It involves building audience in social media, people who have
come to Know, like and trust you because of the content you give to them. It
helps you build audience, credibility, and a strong audience though it take time
to do this

But after you've built this audience, you can go ahead and sell to them

We have the people on your WhatsApp list too, Become intentional about
getting people's contact and having them save your contact. Haven't you seen
people give you an offer and all you have to do is save their contact to get it.

They do this to build their WhatsApp list. This is called WhatsApp marketing.

Paid advertising means running ads: Facebook or Instagram ads.

This is a faster way to sell your courses.

42
Let me share a strategy that works for free method too:

 Pick the topic you want to create a course on, Share it into two major
parts. Both extremely valuable but one should be more enticing than the
other and should be an important follow up of the previous. Eg. The art
of content creation and the business of content creation. Both are
important, but people like to learn how to make money.

 Create a clean flyer for a free class on the first one, pour out value to them
and then sell the course which already has the second and very enticing
part of the topic.

WHERE TO HOST/ SELL YOUR COURSE

The easiest place to host your courses are on your drive.

You can host it there by uploading the files and creating links that can now be
on your website or you give out wherever anybody pays. You can protect your
courses on your website by locking it and only opening it when someone pays,
so they can download and then you lock again.

In fact, I’ve hosted all my courses on my drive and it has worked for me. Just
turn off the available offline.

Others ways you can host your courses are skillshare and teachable

If you're creating a video based course. Skillshare is very helpful: It allows you
upload the video individually. Though videos s should be at least 10 minutes
long

43
Teachable gives you an online school experience.

They allow you create your online school, host your courses and then get
students enrol and take your course.

There's a free and paid plan.

But for the free plan, the charge you per sale of course (about 10% of your fee).

Important things to note when creating an online course:

Who are your ideal audience? Beginners, intermediates?

What do they like? Videos, pdfs, audios or a mix

Always make your offer irresistible, but don't give out too much information

Know the proper way to price your products, not too cheap and not expensive.

Always have a goal for the amount of people you want to buy the course. It helps
you make the effort psychologically

Always ask for feedback and testimonials from those who take the courses.

Remember, you always have something to sell.

So a quick rundown,

 Find and validate your topic idea

 Give it a catchy name

 Create an outline

 Create content around it using text, audio or video,

 Compile the course and host it

 Launch and market it like crazy.

44
HOW TO UPLOAD TO DRIVE

After you've recorded your videos or created your slides, audios or any form you
want your course to take,

Go to Your Drive: Every smartphone and laptop gives you access to your
drive. It is tied to your Google account and email.

- Open it and click on the + (plus sign) then,

- Click on upload, it leads you to your files,
- Select your audio, video or pdf,
- Upload to your drive.

The next thing to do is generate a link by clicking on the 3 dots on your already
uploaded file and click copy link.

Then this link is what you give when someone pays for your course.

ALL THE BEST!!!
