Systems Engineering and Project Management: Summary Handout
Systems Engineering and Project Management: Summary Handout
System engineering also adopts the concept of system thinking and starts
from the documentation of requirement from the customer and
conducting the verification and validation of delivery until it is disposed
of[ CITATION INC19 \l 16393 ]. Therefore, it is a total team effort which is
required to be put to implement system engineering [ CITATION APM131 \l
16393 ]. The activities start from understanding the requirement and then it
progresses until the assessment of the value of the product is developed
and assessed in accordance with the requirement that is documented at
the beginning[ CITATION INC09 \l 16393 ]. And this is not only conducted at the
end, in fact, but the revaluation is also being performed at every regular
interval and every stage completion [ CITATION AlR10 \l 16393 ]. The overall risk
factor present in the project can be reduced and the complexity present
in the current project can also be addressed by conducting the
revaluation of every stage at every outcome of even a small
activity[ CITATION Kad191 \l 16393 ].
The system life cycle is divided into six major stages starting from the
analysis of the requirement obtained from the customer and ends at the
evaluation of the value that is obtained[ CITATION Lea19 \l 16393 ]. In between,
there are four more stages that are the designing of the requirement of
the solution and the development and testing of the developed solution
followed by the implementation stage. Once the implementation is done,
the documentation is also performed and then the evaluation of value is
performed.
