A conditional sentence is a sentence that expresses a condition. It contains an

independent clause and a dependent clause that almost always begins with “if and

when.”There are three main types of conditional sentences: Present Conditional,

Past Conditional and Future Conditional.

Let us focus first on the first type of conditional, the Present Conditional.

 USE

The Present Conditional is used to talk about what you normally do in

real-life situations.
FORM

[If / When ... Simple Present ..., ... Simple Present ...]

[... Simple Present ... if / when ... Simple Present ...]

Examples:

 If I go to a friend's house for dinner, I usually take a bottle of wine or

some flowers.

 When I have a day off from work, I often go to the beach.

V. Activities

Activity 1

Directions: Write the present conditional of the verb in the brackets.
