HELPFUL HINTS
1. All rows are crocheted in the round. You will need a piece of dental floss or thread to
mark the first stitch of each row.

2. I always start crocheting the body first. Usually by time I finish the body I have the feel
of the thread and the thread tightness is set for the rest of the bear.

3. I like to stuff the tiny pieces as I crochet. It is hard to stuff a piece after it is fully
crocheted. Also make sure you stuff a little extra in the muzzle area.
.
5 I like to embroider the nose on row 3.

6. For the eye I usually thread the bead onto the thread. Sew one end of the thread through the
head and come out at the back closing. Repeat for the second thread end and come out next to the
first. Do not tie the ends yet. Repeat this for the second eye. Pull the eye up and add a little
shading behind it. Do this for both eyes. Then pull the ends tight, tie a knot and bury the ends.

7. After the eyes are tied. I use a color pencil and add some shading around the eyes, nose.

8. Making her fuzzy. I use a nap riser brush and brush the parts as I finish crocheting
them. A stiff toothbrush should also work O.K. Just don’t brush too hard, you will
break the threads.

9. Stuffing body and head. Do NOT stuff too hard. If you do it will cause the stitches
Tend to separate and the stuffing shows through.

10. Closing Parts. Catch both loops of the stitches in the last row and kind of whip
over them.. Pull closed. Tie a small knot and bury in the body part.

Cornwall
Cornwall was created by crocheting two acrylic threads
together at the same time. Crochet them as one thread using
a size 7(1.65) crochet hook. The ideas are endless using this
idea.

STRING JOINING
1. Legs- I always string the legs first. I insert the needle in the inside of the leg, make sure
you catch some stuffing at this time. Then through the body from one side and out the
body on the other side. Go through the inside of the other leg making sure you catch
some stuffing. Back through the body, tie a knot and bury the thread.

2. Arms and Head- This is done using one thread. Start with an arm, insert the needle in
the arm, catch a little stuffing and out the arm. Then into the body up and out the neck
hole of the body. Insert the needle into the neck of the head and back into the neck hole
of the body. Then out the body and into the other arm make sure you catch some stuffing
out the arm and back through the body. Tie a knot and bury thread.
