1. Family structure, characteristics & dynamics

The family is consist of 13 members and considered as extended


family it is consist of different family members like aunties, uncles,
cousins and sister-in-law. Each member has an important role in
maintaining the family successful and united.

2. Socio-economic &cultural characteristics

Almost of the family member are students and some has their
own occupation such as welder, Jollibee attendant and other member is
house keeper.

Family member has 4 college students, have been supported by


their relative working in abroad. The family income including the help of
those who work in abroad is approximately 30,000php per month. Family
is eating 3 times a day; example of family menu in one day are: in the
morning rice egg, noddles etc.,in lunch vegetable, rice and in dinner fish
rice…

3. Home & environment

Family has one domestic animal which is a dog. The domestic


animal is living outside their house. Family house is near from town
uncover drainage. And have some vectors living outside the house.
4. Health status of each member

Family member has different health status one of them has a


(CVA) cerebral vascular accident. Some is seems to be underweight.

5. Values and practices on health promotion/ maintenance and disease


prevention

Family is a Roman Catholic who believed that Jesus is their


savior. In presence of disease the family believed that only medical
practitioner can treat their unhealthy body.

V. Problem Identification

1. Hypertension/ post CVA

One member of the family has 10 years’ post CVA, his right arm
become mild paralyzed, lessens the ability to do some task. Its
affect his way of living, doing his task in the family and school but
now he is practicing a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk for having
CVA again.

2. Presence of vectors
Vectors such as cockroach, rat, and mosquitoes are present in
family’s house. Vectors came from outside the house. It affects the
family health by cross contamination of microorganisms. So it
considered as health threat to each member.

3. House near from uncover drainage

Uncover drainage is a reservoir of some vectors which can affect


the family health. And uncover drainage can pollute the air, that
affect the family source of oxygen.

4. Low income
Even though family is being supported by their relative working
in abroad still the income is not exact for their daily needs. Only
two of the family member has a job.

5. No permanent address
Family fun of migrating from one place to another it can
decrease socialization and popularization in one place. it is an
additional family expenditure.
