REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Foreign Literature

According to the article The Effects of Demographic Factors on Consumer

Behavior, Age is a significant factor in patterns, impacting customer behavior. At the

point when individuals develop they change their needs. Comparative changes are

going to their examples of obtaining basic leadership. Our wellbeing needs change

with age, thus do numerous different necessities. Maturing carries changes to the way

of life of individuals, which likewise impacts their wants and individual qualities.

When individuals are youthful, they spend more from fun and motion pictures to form

on their way of life needs. As they get more established their spending on these issues

is reducing. Older individuals frequently stay inside, however, costs identified with

their wellbeing may increment. Along these lines, age gets one of the fundamental

segment factors that influence shopper conduct and obtaining choices. Between male

and woman sexes, numerous matters are distinctive and these variations also affect

their buying choices. The two sexes have specific wishes in terms of fashion and

lifestyle. So, their consumer conduct in these areas may be vastly distinctive. It is

mainly the difference in wishes that cause differing choices.

Many people now prefer to do their internet transactions instead of going to

shop, banks or other physical sites (Kim and Lennon, 2013). According to the article

Importance of Business Website of SolutionsResource, in order to help the business

grow, a website itself can be used to incorporate several different marketing

strategies. One study conducted by Aimuan Emmanuel, in today’s modern world

According to the article The Importance of a Website for your Business

Success of Lyfe Marketing blog, the significance of a site for publicizing contacts

The internet has become the advertiser's opportunity to add value to products

and services. The exponential growth and growth of the Internet and World Wide

Web adoption has become a gateway to encouraging more consumers and businesses

to take advantage of e-commerce. This e-commerce is defined as any form of

interaction in which the parties communicate electronically rather than through

physical transactions or direct physical contact (Aldin, Brehmer & Johansson, 2004).

Having the right platform and the right product alone does not guarantee the

Website's success. The Website must be built with the primary consideration of the

target audience in order to be effective. Website designers must align design

requirements and strengths with customer expectations and the level of understanding

that customers have in modern technology (Geissler, 2001).

Digital marketing strategies used to achieve brand awareness, familiarity, and

Local Study

Businesses who drew in into Electronic Commerce (online business) have

been resolved to increase a forceful zone in the region of Marketing in expressions of

openness, accommodation, and accessibility. Since the web is available by methods

for people all-inclusive, the customers are never again restricted inside the region of

the store. Anybody can go to the shop anyplace, at whatever point barring hassle. Just

by methods for exploring the store, the client can select the product and buy it barring

going to the shop straightforwardly .E-trade demonstrates to decorate how standard

business exchanges show up and lessens the time, and exertion benefited from

utilizing the association and clients as pleasantly (Deanna and Fritz,2006).

Foreign Study

Studies show that consumers in developing countries prefer foreign brands,

especially from the West, because of perceived quality and social status (Han, C.M.,

1988: Zeithmal, 1988) and consumers have now been found to buy foreign brands

more often than local ones and are proud to buy imported goods (Iyer, G. & Kalita,

J.K. 1997).

According to Wong and Smith (2002), it is important to understand the

consumer's perception of foreign brands to local brands, as studying consumer

perceptions to foreign and local brands and factors affecting their brand preference

have significant marketing implications.

STO. NIÑO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
According to Babin, B.J., et al. (2004), it is important for marketers to connect 8

brand preference to demographic groups, because as demographic age and gender

vary, so does their intake to varying product sizes, styles and brands

According to Samiee S (1994), local or local customers are more likely to buy

international producers than local customers, as the reach of the Western global is

becoming greater.

The brand is a symbolic embodiment of all the records related to the product

and issuer to create institutions and expectancies around it and can supply product

attribute, benefits, value, and character, so that, it is able to help on developing

positioning platform and help on developing desired self-pictures to the consumer

(Kotler P, 1999).

According to Mitchell and Walsh (2004), ladies and men need one-of-a-kind

products and they may be in all likelihood to have extraordinary methods of liking

and obtaining these. Gender has a crucial position in customer behaviors. Because, the

differences between ladies and men approximately expectation, need, need, lifestyle,

etc. reflect their consumption behaviors (Akturan, 2009:66).

Millennials affect other consumer decisions as well as potential customers.

Consumer interaction marketers want to appropriately know how to target this group

in light of changing roles of men and women in society because of Millennials.

Ndubisi (2003)

Based on a retail analysis by Audrain-Pontevia and Vanhuele (2016), there

perception (Faqih, 2016; Babin et al., 2013; Borges et al., 2013; Mortimer and Clarke, 9

attitude, meaning, behavior, lifestyle, and ethnic diversity) (Taylor and Keeter, 2010).

Performance of websites in the World Wide Web is considered an important

term. In the current environment, without a good quality website, a company cannot

attract a relatively wide range of visitors. The value of the website is defined by the

capacity of the website to allow users to meet their goals and the desire of users to

revisit the website and continue to do the same (Loiacono, Watson, and Goodhue,

2002).

According to the study conducted by Garret R., Chiu J., Zhang L., et al.,

poorly designed websites may also frustrate users and bring about a high “jump rate”,

or human beings journeying the doorway page without exploring different pages in

the site (Google, 2015). On the other hand, a well-designed internet site with

excessive usability has been found to positively influence tourist retention (revisit

rates) and purchasing behavior (Avouris, Tselios, Fidas, & Papachristos, 2003;

Flavián et al., 2006; Lee & Kozar, 2012).

Synthesis

According to a local study by Deanna and Fritz (2006) that a business that

drew in into Electronic Commerce or online business has been resolved to increase a

forceful zone in the region of Marketing in expression of openness, accommodation,

and accessibility. The client or the visitor of the website can select the product they

want to buy without going to the shop that shows the lessen time of effort of the

customer to go to a shop. According to a foreign study of Loiacono, Watson, and

Goodhue, (2002) that a performance of the website is important in the World Wide

Web because without a good quality of the website, the business or company cannot

attract wide range of visitors similar to the study conducted by Garret R., Chui J., 10

Zhang L., et al., that a poorly website design may also frustrate the users or the visitor

of the website and beings journeying the doorway or exit page without exploring

different pages in the site but according to the study of Avouris, Tselios, Fidas, &

Papachritos, (2003); Flavián et al., (2006); Lee & Kozar (2012) that they all similar

study that a well-designed internet site or website with excessive usability has been

found to positively influence the visitor of the website and increase the revisit rate and

purchasing behavior that supported the study of Chang and Chen (2008) that a

company website or business website is generally aimed at maintaining existing

customers and attracting new ones.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The researchers used a descriptive study. Descriptive studies are described as a

study technique that describes the characteristics of the population or phenomenon

that is being studied. It is vital because descriptive can be used in multiple ways such

as defining respondents characteristics to measure data trends, conducting

comparisons, and conduct research at a different time.

Sampling Technique

Purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling that is chosen based on the

traits of a population and the objective of the study. Convenience sampling is a

method of non-probability sampling, where samples are chosen due to their easy

accessibility and proximity to the researcher. The researchers used purposive

sampling and convenience sampling because, it is the easiest way to pick a fit

respondents for the researcher’s questionnaire. The number of respondents that the

researchers needed is 70 respondents, including ICT students, people in Marikina, and

non-locals.

Research Instrument

The research instrument that used by the researchers to conduct a data is a

survey questionnaire, which necessary for the descriptive method. The survey

questionnaire is a type of facts gathering technique that is utilized to collect, analyze

and interpret the different views of a term of human beings from a specific

population. The survey questionnaire contains the content refers to the textual and

visual content published on a website, the design is the overall layout and visual 12

appearance, and the functionality is with which the visitors or viewers of the website

can navigate the site and obtain the information they seeking and function of the

whole website.

Data Gathering Procedure

The first step is the researchers had a validation form for the survey

questionnaire that were validated by the panelist for comments, suggestions, and

corrections on the content and checked by the adviser to make sure the validity of the

response. Next step, the researchers conducted a survey in the chosen area and

respondents. The researchers choose purposive sampling and convenience sampling.

Last, the researchers were tallied all the answers of the respondents to get the data

needed.

Statistical Treatment Used
