General Mast mounted antenna Deck mounted antenna


The Nera F77 satellite terminal provides 64 kbps
voice and data, and 4.8 kbps low cost voice for
transmission via the Inmarsat satellite system.
Nera F77 offers full ISDN functionality.

Above Deck Equipment - ADE


The Nera F77 Above Deck Equipment consists of:
• Servo stabilized antenna dish with RF-Transceiver
• Mast mounted radome, or
• Deck mounted radome

Below Deck Equipment - BDE


The Nera F77 Main Communication Unit (MCU) -
which constitutes the major electronic part - is de-
signed for wall or desktop installation.
The MCU mains input is 100 - 240 VAC ±10%. The
power requirement is approx. 40 W in receive/idle Nera ISDN Handset Distress Alarm Main Communication Unit

The two holes must be countersunk to
eliminate contact between rear side of
antenna PCB and the screws.
If a proper countersinking tool is
unavailable an oversized drill ø6 – ø8mm
can be used with care (the drill must not
be too sharp, otherwise the PCB can be
damaged).

each bolt into the black plastic spacer.
It’s a tight fit so some torque must be
applied.

The signal cable is secured with a cable


tie inserted through the cable anchor.
Place the cable tie just below the thick
part of the shrinking tube.

There is a slight slack due to tolerances,
so mount the LNA in its lower position.

Fix the TX coaxial cable. The clamp on


the cable must be turned upside down
(to the previous position).

Mount the SMA connector and fasten


the cable clamp to the bracket using the
original M3x10 bolt and washer saved
from the disassembly.
Finally tighten the SMA connector using Mounting the LNA.

signal cable with MCX connectors.
The thinner cable to the connector

The thicker cable to the other
connector.

There are 4 cables connected


between the LNA and the antenna.
Two cables to the right and two to
the left of the LNA – and they must
be connected correctly!
Look at the LNA - the cable closest
to the antenna goes to the upper
connector on the antenna plate.
The other cable (closest to you) goes
to lower connector on the antenna.

Gemplus & G&D SIM cards.
Make sure to verify type of SIM cards your Net-
provider delivers! • F77 Terminals delivered from Nera SatCom since
Q4 2003 have SIM version 1.30 EPROMs.
• The old SIM program version 1.20 only supports
the Gemplus SIM standard. Procedure:
