1. Algemene beschrijving / Technische gegevens
1.1 Leveringsomvang F-503
In de verpakking treft u de volgende zaken aan:
- Manual
- Junctionbox F-503

Controleer of de bovengenoemde items aanwezig zijn. Is dit niet het geval, neem
dan zo snel mogelijk contact op met uw dealer.
Lees voor het installeren van de F-503 aandachtig deze manual door. Als er vragen
of onduidelijkheden zijn, neem dan contact op met uw dealer.

1.2 Beschrijving meegeleverde items

1.2.1 Manual
Hierin is het aansluiten, de functionaliteit en de bediening van de F-503 terug te
vinden.

1.2.2 Junctionbox F-503:


In deze junctionbox worden de noodzakelijke aansluitingen van de piloot op de
externe apparaten gemaakt. Aansluitmogelijkheden voor: repeater instrumenten,
analoge roerstandgever, NMEA input en output, ethernet input en output en Aux
input.

1.3 FALCON systeem omvang

• Falcon1000 zichtinstrument

2. Installatie voorschrift

De junctionbox dient te worden geplaatst op een locatie die goed toegankelijk is voor service
doeleinden en die makkelijk bereikbaar is voor de kabels. De junctionbox dient te worden gevoed
met 2 separate voedingen van 24Volt, deze voedingen dienen extern gezekerd te worden met
een automatische zekering van 6A.

3. Aansluitingen
3.1 aansluitingen Junction Box F-503

3.1.1 K1: Aansluiting voor de voeding.

3.1.2 K2: RZ 610 (roerstand sensor) aansluiting.


Deze aansluiting zal in de meeste gevallen niet, of alleen als back-up gebruikt worden.
Standaard wordt er een S-100\P-100 voorgeschreven in een Falcon piloot systeem. De
S-100\P-100 wordt via een NMEA aansluiting verbonden aan het Falcon piloot
systeem. Aansluiting zie tekening :

3.1.3 K3: Aansluiting voor een externe roerstand aanwijzer.
Deze roerstandaanwijzer is direct verbonden met de roerstandgever die aangesloten zit
op K2. Indien gebruik wordt gemaakt van een S-100\P-100 kan deze aansluiting niet
worden gebruikt. Aansluitingen zie tekening:

3.1.4 K4: Auxiliary input.


Hierop kan een extern stuursignaal worden aangesloten(extern analoog).
Ingangssignaal +2V..+13V.

3.1.5 K5 & K6: Analoge uitgangen.


De functie van beide analoge uitgangen zijn vrij programmeerbaar. Keuze tussen
huidige roerstand, huidige bochtsnelheid of schottel uitgang.

3.1.6 K7: Alarm uitgang.


dit is een potentiaal vrij contact dat bekrachtigd wordt op het moment dat er een alarm
is. Op deze uitgang is een externe optische of akoestische alarm indicatie aan te
sluiten. Deze uitgang kan ook worden verbonden met een ander alarm systeem. De
maximale belasting van deze uitgang is 24V, 1A.

3.1.7 K8: Wachtalarm uitgang.
Dit is een potentiaal vrij relais contact dat bekrachtigd wordt op het moment dat de
piloot handmatig bediend wordt het een maximum van 1 maal per minuut. De maximale
belasting van deze uitgang is 24V, 1A.

3.1.8 K9: alarm ingangen.


Op pin 1 en 2 kan een extern roerwerk alarm worden ingegeven. op pin 3 en 4 kan een
extern gyro alarm worden gegeven. deze ingangen zijn galvanisch gescheiden.

3.1.9 K10: digitale ingangen.


Indien op pin 1 en 2 een spanning word gezet zal de piloot omschakelen naar de
functie roerstand. Op de piloot bediening kan op dat moment niet meer worden
omgeschakeld naar een andere functie. Pas als de spanning op deze ingang weer
wegvalt zal de bediening weer actief worden. Op pin 3 en 4 kan een externe alarm
reset worden gegeven. deze ingangen zijn galvanisch gescheiden.

3.1.10 K11: CAN-bus.


Dit is een CAN-bus aansluiting. Deze heeft nog geen functionaliteit.

3.1.11 K12: NMEA in.


De ingang is galvanisch gescheiden van de overige circuits. De berichten die men kan
ontvangen zijn volgens IEC61162. Berichten die deze ingang kan ontvangen zijn:
$RZHDM, $RZHDT, $RZHDG, $RZRSA en $RZROT.
Door dipswitch SW4-1 aan te zetten wordt de baudrate op 9600 gezet, anders is de
baudrate 4800.
Door SW1 aan te zetten wordt deze ingang een RS485 poort.

3.1.12 K13: NMEA in en uit en voeding uit.
De NMEA in- en uitgang zijn galvanisch gescheiden van de overige circuits. De
berichten die men kan ontvangen zijn volgens IEC61162. Berichten die de ingang kan
ontvangen zijn: $RZHDM, $RZHDT, $RZHDG, $RZRSA en $RZROT. De berichten die
deze uitgeeft zijn: $RZHTD en enkele afregelberichten voor diverse sensoren. De
uitgaande voeding is gezekerd met een 900mA zekering.
Deze connector is uitermate geschikt om een roerstandgever S-100\P-100 aan te
sluiten.

3.1.13 K14: NMEA in en uit en voeding uit.


De NMEA in- en uitgang zijn galvanisch gescheiden van de overige circuits. De
berichten die men kan ontvangen zijn volgens IEC61162. Berichten die de ingang kan
ontvangen zijn: $RZHDM, $RZHDT, $RZHDG, $RZRSA en $RZROT. De berichten die
deze uitgeeft zijn: $RZHTD en enkele afregelberichten voor diverse sensoren. De
uitgaande voeding is gezekerd met een 2.5A zekering.
Deze connector is uitermate geschikt om een gyro S-300\P-300 aan te sluiten.

3.2 Aansluitingen in de junctionbox op print RZ 1711 (stuurprint)
Op de output print kan worden aangesloten:
- Danfoss
- Common+
- Common –
- Motordrive

Deze print is één keer aanwezig en er is plaats voorzien voor een eventuele tweede.
De print is door middel van een vlakbandkabel verbonden met print junction box print.

3.3 DIP switch instellingen op de Junction Box print F-503

Afhankelijk van de mogelijkheden van de piloot dienen er verschillende DIP-switch


instellingen gemaakt te worden. Voordat er spanning op de Junctionbox gezet wordt,
dient SW4 te worden ingesteld.

4. Foutzoekprocedure

4.1. Piloot geeft ROER ALARM.

Controleer of het roer beweegt op grote stuurcommando’s.


Zo nee a) Controleer of de LED D8 op de print RZ 1711/A0 in de junctionbox brandt.

Zo nee Controleer de voeding spanning tussen K1-1 en K1-2 op de print RZ 1711/A0


Zo ja Controleer of een van de LEDs D5 of D6 brandt.

b) controleer of er spanning staat op de externe roerwerkalarm ingang, K9-1 en 2.

Zo ja Controleer of de uitgang spanning naar de kleppen op de klemmen strook K1 staat.

4.2 Piloot stuurt niet, maar geeft ook geen ROER ALARM

- Controleer of op de bediening niet voor de functie “RUDDER” is gekozen.


- Controleer of de juiste bediening is geselecteerd.
- Controleer of er op de roer-functie ingang op K10-1 en 2 spanning staat.

1. General description / technical data
1.1 Scope of delivery of F-503
The packing of the equipment shall contain the following items:
- Manual
- Junction box F-503

Always check whether you have received all the above-mentioned items. If any item is
missing, contact your dealer as soon as possible.
Before installing the F-503, read this manual carefully. If you have any doubts or questions,
please contact your dealer.

1.2 Description of the items supplied with the equipment.

1.2.1 Manual
Here you will find information concerning the connections, functionality and operation
of the F-503

1.2.2 Junction box F-503


The connections required to connect the pilot to the external devices are made in
this junction box. Connecting possibilities for: repeater instruments, analog rudder
angle transmitter, NMEA input and output, ethernet input and output and Aux input.

1.3 FALCON system requirements

2. Installation instructions
2.1 Mounting the junction box.
The junction box should be placed so as to be easily accessible for service purposes
and cabling. The junction box should be provided with 2 separate power supply sources
of 24Volt and these power supply sources should be externally protected with an
automatic fuse of 6A.

3. Connections
3.1 Connections in the junction box F-503

3.1.1 K1: Power supply connection.

3.1.2 K2: RZ 610 (rudder angle sensor) connection.


In most cases, this connection will not be used, or only be used as a back-up. In a
normal Falcon Pilot system a S-100\P-100 is prescribed. The S-100\P-100 will be
connected by NMEA to the Falcon pilot system. For connections, see drawing:

3.1.3 K3: Connection for an external rudder angle indicator.
This output is directly connected to the rudder angle sensor connected at K2. If a S-
100\P-100 is used, this connection does not function. For connections, see drawing:

3.1.4 K4: Aux input


Auxiliary input: an external control signal can be connected here. (External analog).
Maximum input: +2V..+13V.

3.1.5 K5 & 6: analog ouputs


Output 1 indicates the current rudder angle. Output 2 indicates the current rate of turn.

3.1.6 K7: Alarm output.


This is a potential-free contact that gets energised when there is an alarm. An external
visual or acoustic alarm indication should be connected to this output. This output can
also be connected to another alarm system. The maximum load of this output is 24V,
1A.

3.1.7 K8: Output of the wait alarm.


This is a potential-free relay contact that gets energised when the pilot is manually
operated, for a maximum of once every minute. The maximum load at this output is
24V, 1A.

3.1.8 K9: alarm inputs.
An extern rudder alarm can be connected to K9-1 & 2. The input is galvanically
separated.
An extern gyro alarm can be connected to K9-3 & 4. The input is galvanically
separated.

3.1.9 K10: digital inputs


If input K10-1 & 2 is active, the Falcon will switch over to the function ‘Rudder’. At that
moment it is not possible to choose an other function on the Pilot control unit. If the
input becomes inactive the operating unit becomes active again. The input is
galvanically separated.

K10-3 and 4:
An extern alarm reset can be connected to this input. The input is galvanically
separated.

3.1.10 K11: CAN-bus


Dit is the CAN-bus connection. The CAN-bus does not have a function yet.

3.1.11 K12: NMEA in.


The input is galvanically seperated. The input of a NMEA signal takes place at this
input in accordance with the IEC61162 standard. The messages whitch can be
added to this port are: $RZHDM, $RZHDT, $RZHDG, $RZRSA en $RZROT.
By switching SW1 and dipswitch SW4-1 on this input becomes a bidirectional
communication port for communication with Sigma equipment.

3.1.12 K13: NMEA in and out and 24VDC power out.
The NMEA in- and output are galvanically separated. The in- and output of a NMEA
signal takes place at this port in accordance with the NMEA 183 standard. Those

$RZROT. The output messages are: $RZHTD and some adjust messages for adjusting

Various DIP-switch settings can be made in accordance with the functionalities of the
pilot. Before applying voltage to the junction box, SW4 should be set.

4. Fault detection procedure

4.1 Pilot gives a RUDDER ALARM.

Check whether the rudder responds to the control commands.


If No: a) Check whether the LED D8 on the PCB RZ 1711/A0 in the junction box is lighted.

If No: Check the voltage supply between K1-1 and K1-2 on the PCB RZ 1711/A0
If Yes: Check whether the LED’s D5 or D6 are lighted.

b) check if the extern rudder alarm input at K9-1 and 2 is active.


If Yes: Check whether there is output voltage to the valves on the terminal strip K1.

4.2 Pilot does not steer, but also does not give any RUDDER ALARM.

- Check whether the function “RUDDER” has been selected on the display unit or not.
- Check whether the correct pilot control unit has been selected.
- Check if the rudder function input at K10-1 and 2 is active.
