The Methodology
To provide further information in the study of the topic Level of Satisfaction of Senior High
School students to the teaching strategies of the teachers in Trinity University of Asia, the
researchers use descriptive research to conduct this research. This chapter introduces the
details of research design, respondents of the study, sampling data gathering procedures, data
gathering instruments, and statistical treatment data.
Research design
The researchers used the descriptive research to conduct this study entitled “Level of
Satisfaction of Senior High School students to the teaching strategies of the teachers in Trinity
University of Asia” in Trinity University of Asia campus Year 2019-2020. Descriptive research is
aims to accurately and systematically describe a population, situation or phenomenon. It can
answer what, when, where, when and how questions, but not why questions. To determine
cause and effect, experimental research is required.
The study aims to determine to know the strengths and weakness of the different strategies
that the lecturers uses and the impact of lecturers’ competencies on student’s satisfaction.
The researcher's intend to determine the effectivity and efficiency used by the teachers in
teaching.
Sampling technique
The sampling technique that the researchers used is Purposive sampling. Purposive sampling is
known as subjective or selective sampling and this requires researchers to have prior
knowledge about the purpose of the study. It is one of the most cost-effective and time-
effective sampling methods. When choosing members of population to participate in their
study, researchers rely on their own judgment in this form of non-probability sampling. The
method for performing purposive sampling is fairly straightforward. Researcher went to this
community on purpose for them to thoroughly think through how they will establish a sample
population. The main goal of purposive sampling is to focus on particular characteristics of a
population are of interest in which will enable to answer the research questions.
Instruments of the study
Research instruments used in the research study is survey form. These chosen instrument will
be used in the collection of data to test the validity and reliability of the research study being
conducted.
Survey forms will be used in data collection. A systematically prepared form with a set of
questions designed to get and produce responses from the respondents. Researchers already
have a readymade and comprehensive set of questions. Structured survey form will be used.
This instrument is convenient in the part of both the researchers and the respondents because
it saves the survey takers some time, especially when they are busy.
Statistical Treatment
To interpret the data effectively, the researcher will employ the following statistical treatment.
The Percentage and the Weighted Mean are the tools use to interpret the data.
1. Percentage
This will be used to determine the frequency counts and percentage distribution of
personal related variables of the respondents.
Formula: % =F/N×100
% is the percentage
F is the Frequency
N is the total number of respondents
100 is a constant value
2. Weighted Mean
This will be used to determine the average and central value.
Formula: X = Σx/N
X is the Mean
Σx is the sum of all scores
N is the number of cases
