centered, task-based, participatory, cooperative and collaborative learning, and project-based
approaches. A variety of speaking and listening practice activities and tasks are set up through
different working arrangement such as small group work, pair work, and individual work. The
students are also required to do lots of self-study and use electronic materials and sources from
the internet to support their learning.

Learning Assessment Methods:
In order to gather holistic evidence about whether a student performs well and achieves the
above learning outcomes of the course, formative assessment and summative assessment
methods should be used. Formative assessment techniques include, but are not limited to,
summaries, reflections, lists, charts, and graphic organizers, visual representations of
information, exhibitions, oral presentations, informal observations, demonstrations, responses to
teacher questions, listening to student questions, homework/assignments, completing worksheets,
pre-test, end of unit/lesson/chapter quizzes or progress tests, monthly tests, essays, project
papers, projects, portfolios, journals, and collaborative activities such as role plays, plays,
debates, discussions, simulations in pairs and /or groups). Summative assessment techniques
include, but are not limited to, end-of-term/semester exams or final exams, standardized tests,
reports, term papers, projects, research project reports, and oral defense. To keep track of the
data the teacher collects, a proper student record keeping should be highly considered.
Here is the assessment scale:
Every student is required to attend the class regularly and punctually. Any student who….
1. never cuts any lesson and never arrives later than 10 minutes after the start shall receive
the attendance scores of 10% (as mentioned above).
2. asks for permission shall be accepted when s/he can submit a formal request letter for
permission to their professor with a reasonable reason at the beginning of the session.
3. arrives 15 minutes for 6 times is equal to one 90-minute session missing. In other words,
any student who comes 15 minutes late for 30 times means s/he misses five 90-minute
sessions. So s/he shall receive 15% deduction of their overall score.
4. misses 10 sessions shall receive 30% deduction of their overall score.
5. misses more than 10 sessions for unknown reasons shall be marked with W (W grade) as
an automatic withdrawal from the course.
6. gets the excused absence for an extended period of more than 13 sessions shall result in
