Statement of Purpose

I have completed my graduation in August 2015 with BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration)
from University of Central Punjab which is one of well renowned business schools in Pakistan. I am
a committed and responsible professional. I was awarded a scholarship in each semester during
my BBA and my highest GPA was 3.85. In last two semesters of my graduation I have been an
active member of DCHD (Democratic Commission for Human Development) an organization which
works day and night for protecting the rights for children and women.
In the last semester of my BBA, in 2015. I recognized a great opportunity to start a travel agency,
now it works by the name of “Connected World Travel & tours pvt. Ltd”. It took months to make a
comprehensive feasibility report. It was a great success and I have found business partners as well.
We all worked very hard. From very first day, I was responsible for Analyzing reports, strategical
decisions, and development of the business, business-supplier relationship and business-
customers relationship. These two years were very important period of my life, I learned a lot from
my mistakes and my failures but with an absolute determination and team work all the things are
going very well and business is stable now but still there are many things to learn, so, I want to
enhance my professional capabilities by doing further studies, taking admission in Masters in a very
prestigious university would be very accommodating in my future plans because I want to make
diversified business portfolio and avail more opportunities as well.
Pakistan, my home land, has assiduous geographical presence which is always a center of interest
for foreign investors. China is investing billions of dollars in Pakistan for business purposes.
Moreover, huge foreign investments are going to play a vital role in more business and economic
development of this country but still education sector in Pakistan is not prioritized as other sectors
are. Students have to search for high ranked universities internationally.
The selection of a course is always very important. In near future, Logistics and Supply chain
management would have a great scope around the globe. When I see the future projects in my
home country specially CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) I find it a very enormous project
which is planned for the purpose of enhancing trade activities between Pakistan-China and other
countries through a sea port at Gwadar. There would be a lot of business opportunities. Logistics
and supply chain management has gained distinctive significance and it plays a vital role in trade,
delivering of goods and different business procedures in all over the world that is why this subject
has an exceptional scope and growing awareness. Furthermore, the prime motivation to study
Supply Chain management is; this post-graduation degree would definitely enhance my
professional knowledge and managerial skills. I would be more confident in solving many of the
problems which a business faces and would be able to make different and strong strategies. I see
a very bright and growing profession ahead.
For Post-graduation, Sweden is much admired country to choose because Sweden is home to one
of the world’s best and well renowned universities. The entire Swedish higher education system is
ranked as one of the best in the world. Along with Swedish and many other languages Sweden also
encourages the English language. It is a home country of world’s biggest logistics companies. So,
this could be very helpful in my professional and practical learning.
After an extensive exploration, I have selected Jonkoping University (Jonkoping International
Business School - JIBS) based on its outstanding faculty, great learning environment, reasonable
employment rate and quite an intensive & well packaged curriculum. According to the Swedish
National Agency, JIBS ranks one of the best business and economics schools. Another interesting
point is Jonkoping city, which located at south of the Vattern Lake with a very pleasant climate the
city is the center of forestry and agriculture. All these perfect and amazing things have developed
curiosity in me to be the part of this University.
My future plan after completion of this program is to avail more business opportunities in my home
country. In next coming years CPEC is catching huge investments in Pakistan from all over the world
along with bunch of opportunities for new ventures specially which are surely related with logistics
and supply chain. This is the reason I think my intended course will be very helpful for my country
as well.
I am hoping for selection and getting a chance to become a part of such a developed culture and
well renowned institute, Jonkoping University. It would definitely be a great honor and
accomplishment for me to do post-graduation from Jonkoping International business School.
