Siphon Tubes: Selection Chart

Siphon tubes protect pressure gauges from excessive heat by forming condensation in their bent parts. They are mounted directly on gauges or with shut-off devices. Proper filling and sufficient length at high temperatures prevents overheating. Siphon tubes come in steel or stainless steel per DIN 16282 standards and have various connection and pressure/temperature ratings.

Siphon Tubes

Application Siphon tubes protect the pressure gauges

against excessive heating due to the
temperature of the measuring fluid.
The gauge is mounted directly on the
siphon tube or connected in serie with
a shut-off device.
Condensate is formed in the bent part and
this prevents excessive heating. We re-
commend to fill the tube with liquid before
starting. At extremely high temperatures,
a sufficiently long capillary should be used.
