I .Objective
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Forms opinions based on facts
b. Identify the facts from a given solution
c. Express opinion from the given facts

III. Procedure

A. Motivation
The teacher will group the class into two. Each group will be given one boxes that contains sentences
which they need to identify if is a fact or opinion and they need to paste it in its corresponding columns.

B. Presentation of the lesson


The teacher will ask, “Based on the activity a while ago , can you guess the topic for today?”.
What is the topic for today?

C. Discussion
The teacher will ask the students what is Facts and Opinions . After a explanation about facts and
opinions, the teacher will present examples of facts and opinions and ask the following process
questions:

What is the difference between facts and opinions ?


How to know if its an opinion ?
How to write an opinion ?

Questions to Identify Facts

 Can the statement be proved or demonstrated to be true?

 Can the statement be observed in practice or operation?

 Can the statement be verified by witnesses, manuscripts, or documents?

D. Generalization

What is Facts and Opinion ?


What is the difference of facts an opinions ?
How to identify if it is a facts or opinion ?
E. Application
The students will be into three , they will express their opinion from a given fact. Present their output in
different forms. Do the activity within 15 minutes. (20 pts.)

Group 1- Song

Group 2- Jazz Chant

Group 3- Poem

Fact: Facebook interactions can distract an adolescent from learning activities, states the APA.

IV. Evaluation

DIRECTIONS: Identify each statement if it is a fact, opinion , or fact and opinion both

1. Alexander the Great was one of the greatest military leaders in world history.
2. He was born in Pella, Macedonia.
3. The exact date of his birth was probably July 20 or 26, 356 B.C.
4. Shortly before his 33rd birthday, Alexander the Great died.
5. The cause of his death remains unknown.
V .Assignment

Write down whether each example is fact or opinion. Explain your answer.
1. The Family Guy is not appropriate to watch during school.
2. There are fewer panda bears in the world than grizzly bears.
3. Drinking orange juice right after brushing your teeth tastes bad.
4. Justin Bieber deserved to win the Grammy for best new artist.
5. Chicken that has not been properly prepared and cooked may cause salmonella.
6. The Xbox came out before the Wii.
7. Super Mario is one of the greatest video game characters of all time.
8. Chocolate milk tastes better than regular milk.
9. Charter school students are scheduled to attend school more often than students who attend neighborhood
schools.
10. Cheating on your boyfriend or girlfriend is wrong.
