Dismantling
NOTE!
Mark up the position of all parts relative to each other. This is especially important if the parts are to be installed again.

1. Remove the bearing for the input shaft. Use suitable puller.

2. Remove the bearing for the differential housing. Use suitable puller and 11667125 Drift plate as well as 11667001 Handle.

3. Remove the inner bearing race for the rear output shaft. Use suitable puller and suitable counterhold for the puller.

4. Loosen and remove the bolts for the differential housing's parting plane.

5. Mark up and tap to part the differential housing halves. Use a knife or similar.

6. Remove the output differential housing half.

7. Remove the bearing race and bearing for the output differential pinion.

8. Remove the output differential pinion.

9. Remove the differential spider with side gears.

10. Remove the input differential pinion.

11. Remove the bearing and bearing race for the input differential pinion.

12. Remove the thrust washers and the differential spider side gears.

13. Clean and inspect the dismantled parts for damage and wear. Change damaged or worn parts.
NOTE!
Lubricate all sliding surfaces with hypoid oil, SAE 85W90 API GL4 or equivalent, before assembling.
Assembling

14. Install the differential spider side gears and the thrust washers.

15. Install the bearing race and the bearing for the input differential pinion in the input differential housing half.

17. Install the differential spider with side gears and thrust washers acc. to earlier marking.

18. Install the output differential pinion.

19. Install the bearing race and the bearing with vaseline in the output differential housing half. Assemble the differential housing
halves acc. to earlier marking.

20. Install and tighten the bolts crosswise.

A. Differential spider

WARNING
Risk of frostbite and burns! Use protective work gloves.

21. Heat the bearing for the differential housing and the bearing for the input shaft to max. 100 °C (212 °F).
Cool the inner bearing race for the rear output shaft to max. -20 °C (-4 °F).

WARNING
Risk of burns! Use protective work gloves.

22. Install the bearing for the differential housing. Tap down the bearing against the shoulder. Use a brass drift.

23. Install the inner bearing race for the rear output shaft. Tap down the bearing race against the shoulder. Use a brass drift.
