Description
Some airspace usage regulations require Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS II) Change
7.1. Compliance to this requirement is achieved by installation of ACAS II Change 7.1 Equipment
(commonly named Traffic Collision Avoidance System – TCAS).
Solution / Recommendation
Please find below the list of the ACAS II Change 7.1 equipment Part Numbers (P/N) certified on
Airbus Aircraft:
- A300-600/A310 Family:
- A320 Family:
- A330/A340 Family:
- A380 Family:
- A350 Family:
Additional Note
The ACAS II Change 7.1 introduces 2 major changes against change 7.0:
- The change proposal 112e (cp112e) related to the reversal logic:
Improved reversal logic recognizes situations when two converging aircraft:
o Remain within 100ft,
o One aircraft is not responding to the RA or is not equipped with
ACAS system.
Reversal RA (i.e. “climb, climb now” or “descend, descend now”) will be issued to the
aircraft that is correctly responding to the current RA.
- The change proposal 115 (co115) related to the Resolution Advisory (RA): new RA “level off,
level off” replaces the existing “adjust vertical speed, adjust”.
- GCAA Mandate CAR OPS 1 (Arab Emirates) requires TCAS change 7.1
