Indicate The Steps You Will Undertake To Teach To Teach The Lesson and Indicate The No. of Minutes Each Step Will Consume

1. This detailed lesson plan outlines a 50-minute mathematics lesson for 1st grade students on visualizing and adding two one-digit numbers with sums up to 18 using the order and zero properties of addition. 2. The lesson uses examples, objects, and student participation to teach that changing the order of addends does not affect the sum. 3. Assessment includes a written test where students change the order of addends and find the sum, and assignments for students to practice changing the order of addends and finding sums.

Learning Visualizes and adds two one – digit numbers with sums up to 18 using the Code:
Competency/ies: order and zero properties of addition M1NS-IIa-
26.1
Key Concepts/ Addition is the process of putting together the values of two given numbers.
Understandings to be Changing the order of the addends does not affect the sum.
Developed
1. Objectives
Knowledge Add two one - digit numbers.
Skills Change the order of addends.
Attitudes Display carefulness in adding numbers.
Values Listen attentively.
2. Content / Topic Visualizing And Adding Two One-Digit Numbers With Sums Up To 18 Using The Order And

4. Procedures (indicate the steps you will undertake to teach to teach the lesson and indicate the no. of minutes each step will
consume)
Preparation

3.Who likes to play ball games? What ball game would you like to play?

And
Presentation 1.Post the problem on the board.
20 minutes The teacher ask Bamboo and Piolo to bring soccer ball and tennis ball.Bamboo brought 6
soccer balls and Piolo brought 5 tennis balls.
Who are the two boys in the story?

Teacher ask to bring soccer and tennis ball.
Bamboo brought 5 soccer balls.
Call another pupil to write the number on the board.
Ask:How many balls did Piolo bring?
Write the number on the board.
Visualize using object.
and is
6 + 5 = 11
So there are 11 balls in all or

and is
5 + 6 = 11
So,if we add 6 soccer balls and 5 tennis balls, altogether we have 11 balls.
What do you observe with the sum of 6 + 5 and 5 + 6?
Is the sum affected/changed if the addends are interchanged?
Changing the order of addends does not affect the sum.
Giving of more examples to deepen pupils’ understanding.

3.Is changing the order of addends affect the sum? Why?

Practice Directions: Find the sum.

10 minutes 1. 10 + 8 = ____ 10 + 8 = _____
