ICT has significantly impacted education around the world by changing attitudes and approaches. Developed countries have seen positive effects by providing technology like tablets to students and encouraging paperless policies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippines transitioned to distance learning using technologies like Google Classroom, Zoom, and Microsoft software to ensure no students were left behind. Mobile phones are now primarily used for education by accessing applications for research, assignments, and communicating with teachers and classmates. When teachers and students are given opportunities to integrate ICT, it can transform not just the way teaching is delivered but the entire learning process.

Expository Essay:
“Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Integration in Education”
Nowadays, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) changed the
world’s attitude, disposition and approaches to education. It undeniably produced significant impact but how do ICT empower teachers and learners? This question will let us think if ICT will provide positive outcomes to education.
ICT is any technological tool, may it a software or hardware integrated into
different teaching modalities. In developed countries but not limited to United States, Singapore and Taiwan, innovation in instruction has delivered a critical and positive affect driven by their government to comply with worldwide guidelines, and contributed in advanced learning. Evidently, their government provided tablets to students where they can make their school works and store their lessons. Thus, they encouraged paperless policy. Further, in the Philippines due pandemic brought by COVID-19; universities, colleges and even basic education transitioned from face to face classes to distance learning using different learning technologies. At first, it was a battle of great minds whether to open classes via distance learning or not since many Filipinos believed that Philippines is not ready for this. However, by the help of different sectors, both government and private sectors classes were successfully pushed through with the mantra “no one will be left behind”. Approximately four months since classes were opened; school administrators, teachers, students and parents are gradually adjusting and learning in the new normal of teaching. In fact, mobile phones before were only used for communication and gaming, but now they are primarily use for education through downloading applications such as Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Software and Messenger which provided a huge assistance in allowing students to carry out research quickly and finish off their activities and assignments much before the stipulated time frame. Furthermore, both teachers and students are having easy access to acquire information in a matter of seconds. In addition, teachers are now capable of using ICT to collect information and use it to exchange learnings to their students that makes them individually and professionally effective.
As a whole, if opportunities are given to teachers and students to integrate ICT in
education, they will not only transform the mode of teaching but the entire learning process.
