YOUR

DREAM
OUTFIT

A business plan by Akshat Mishra, Pooja Thakur and Satya Sharma

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Purpose of the business plan

• When we go to a tailor it sometimes takes weeks to develop a basic shirt. When we order something online we have to wait for days for our
products. So, the purpose of our business plan is to eliminate the time consumption of manufacturing of garments and delivery.
• People are always searching for trendy garments and if we are the one who changes with the trend then it is easy to promote the product
because people are already searching for it that just have to launch your products in the market.
• Apart from all the traditional ways additionally we will create our own website / online shop where you can sell your trendy garments.
• Purpose of business plan aims to provide a customer a feeling of what he wants not what we want to sell, i.e that is giving him the right
to customize every panel of his garment.
• Customer could customize the elements that they want to change from our readily available options, such as collars, pockets, sleeves, etc.
Consumers will also find suggestions for an ensemble, or paired garments with their selected garment. They could, of course, choose to
customize the entire ensemble.
• All the customization details will be from options provided by us. This will help us quicken the process of garment construction, as we will
already possess the necessary patterns and fabrics.
• We promise to deliver your parcel at your doorstep within 2-3 working days.
• Our business plan aims to generate profit with a sustainable approach.
Main Highlights

Business strategy and mission

• Since we will be providing customizing feature we will know the requirement of every piece. Our pieces will be cut- ready and at

be out in our delivery channel. The parcel will not travelled by one delivery boy rather than it will be a chain system i.e. One delivery
boy masters one particular area, parcel will distributed among these delivery boys and final parcel will be received.

Akshat being at the remote location will be handling the digital

manufacturing centers of India. With the current government's push for "Make

will be dominant exporter of Clothing to the World.
Research and development
• Our business plan is inspired by the tailors who provide customized outfit on a digital platform, according to the consumer’s comfort and
taste.
• Made to order garments will be available to consumers.
• With already available designs, they could customize the elements that they want to change from our readily available options, such as
collars, pockets, sleeves, etc.
• Consumers will also find suggestions for an ensemble, or paired garments with their selected garment. They could, of course, choose to
customize the entire ensemble.
• All the customization details will be from options provided by us. This will help us quicken the process of garment construction, as we will
already possess the necessary patterns and fabrics.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?

• Our product range, which is strictly apparel (at least in the initial stages),
varies from athleisure to streetwear.
• The categories offered will be similar in terms of the types of fabric used,
for example, knitted fabrics will be used for t-shirts across these
categories. Not only will this help save costing, this also delves well into
our aim to be a sustainable brand.
• Under each of these categories, the consumers will find separate sub-
categories for tops/bottoms/jackets/etc.
• This will make the shopping/designing experience even easier for the
consumer.
Why these products ?

• Being in a situation after pandemic, The casual is the new normal. And when we mix causal with trend we get these 3 areas that
are – Athleisure, Sports wear, Streetstyle.
• Indian street market is growing right now and it will grow more in the upcoming future. Brands like Jaywalking, Biskit, Six5Six
Street, and truffle are making serious efforts in the streetwear sector.
• Also these all 4 areas i.e. Casual, Sports, Athleisure, Street will require consumption of the same types of fabric, Preferably knit. So
we will be able to utilize the fabrics more easily with a sustainable approach.
Product range

• Athleisure: Athleisure, a type of

hybrid clothing, is a fabricated style

athletic activities and in other
settings, such as at the workplace, at
school, or at other casual or social

tank tops, t-shirts, yoga pants,
joggers, bike shorts, etc.
• These will be available in sub-
categories of
tops/bottoms/overclothes(layers,
jackets).

Product life cycle
Costing and pricing

• Our costing method is a block chain method. Costing is not done for a whole product. We charge according to the consumption of fabric
i.e. according to per piece of pattern.

• Costing varies according the amount of customization done. So this way customer knows the value of what he is paying for.
Costing formula

• Stage 1 : Fabric cost per patter piece + 20 % of profit margin per

• piece + 20 % of overhead charges.

• For eg. Sleeve pattern requires 1 mt. of fabric.

• let the 1 mt. fabric cost be 80 INR.
• So, 80 + { ( 20 % X 80 ) + ( 20 % X 80 ) } = 112 INR

• Profit margin = 32 INR and that is for 1 mt.

• For 2 mt. of fabric it will be 2 X 32 = 64 INR
• Stage 2 : Manufacturing cost + Tax + packing charges + Shipping charges

• = Final Cost
Production process

• Apparel manufacturing process involves Product Design, Fabric Selection and Inspection, Patternmaking, Grading, Marking, Spreading,
Cutting, Bundling, Sewing, Pressing or Folding, Finishing and Detailing, Dyeing and Washing, QC etc.
Quality assurance and control

• The word ‘customized’ simply means to modify in order to suit an individual’s taste. But there are many other benefits that you get in
bespoke clothing as compared to readymade ones:

• a. Better Fit – Fitting is the key to making any outfit look good. Some people complain of poor fitting in readymade clothes. This is where
custom-made clothing services come into play and give you the exact fitting according to your body type.

• b. Choice – Different people have different choices and some people do not really like what is available at branded shops and like to wear
things according to their own taste. Here is when you can make clothes of your own choice.

• c. Less Time Wasted –You can spend hours searching for the right shirt or suit while shopping at a mall but on the other hand, you can go
directly to your tailor and get stitched what you are exactly looking for, saving so much time
Sourcing

• The major sourcing will take place from the wholesale retailers of Delhi. Which would cost us a good rate for our garments and will cut off
major expenses of travelling far away.
MARKET CLIENT AND COMPETITION
Market characteristics

• Trendy outdoor wear has grown into a billion dollar niche in the clothing industry. The popularity of the Internet has launched a number of
online stores for outdoor wear but very less outdoor company we know of is exclusively selling customized products online. Yet.

• The key is amplified word of mouth via social media, with emphasis on content and opinion leaders related to outdoor fashion and
people’s health and fitness sites.

• Our messaging will focus on the eliminating the compromises others make and stepping up to the distinctive style of apparel industry.
And of course social media will also be an important marketing tool in bringing customers to our website.
Competition

• The offerings at major online customizing offerings including Raymond MTM (men’s wear), Creyate (jeans), Bombay Shirt Company
(shirts), SS Homme (men’s suit), 16 Stitches (shirts).
Why Us?

• Our mission is to present consumers with designs, styling and clothes that energizes any outdoor activity.
Whether it be sports, running along the beach, or drifting down a river, parties, durable clothing that will look
and feel wonderful.
• Our biggest USP, is fast design, fast customization, fast process and fast delivery.
• Unlike other made-to-order brands, our customization options will be limited and already available. So if the
consumer decides on a design, the pattern of that design will already be available on the required fabric.
Which helps us jumpstart the process of the garment construction and eliminates the basics of construction.
• Apart from the speed of our network, our sustainable methods are another pro. Minimal wastage pattern
cutting will help us save fabric and raw materials. Also, since our categories are all inter-related and may
overlap each other, we may recycle materials from the various categories and use them all for our products.
• Through our delivery channels, fast delivery will be available to the consumer.
Market strategy

• We bring the best fabric, designs and styling on the market. Pooja Thakur and Akshat Mishra , co-owners of ‘your dream outfit’ , have four
years of experience between them in the garment industry. Akshat and Pooja will be the designers, with Satya acting as Head of Sales.
Along with that, Akshat will be the website administrator for the initial business, and Pooja will be in charge of accounting and finances.

• Our projections here indicate we are generating unrealistically high cash balances. We leave that here for now, but with the certainty that
actual results will emerge using a lot more expenses than what we project here. We know it will happen. So we leave the existing
estimates with a huge cushion for the realistic expenses later.
Financing Needed

• Rs. 460K funding includes Rs.260K from Rs.130K each from the two founders, plus a Rs.200K loan.

• We estimate Rs.58.5K in startup expenses and Rs.401.5K needed in cash reserves to support deficit spending for the first few months.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND
ORGANIZATION
Location and premises

• We will be starting from Delhi, since Delhi is the core of

Fashion and Retail. It will be easy to get a customer base since
the millennial are now fashion conscious.
• Land and premises would be less costly than Mumbai. The
manufacturing units can be setup easily.
• Dealing with the buyers and clients will be much easier and
faster.
• While being in Delhi, Sourcing will be much easier and cheap.
• With the sourcing done from Delhi markets, and the availability of garment warehouses and factories near the region, it makes
sense financially for us to start the business in Delhi.
• Since the brand works online, and the current trend of shifting all work to the digital world, all we will need is a small working
space that we will rent and use as our office space.
• Availability of workers: Many manufacturers available in the area.
• Initially, we will only require a sourcing agent, and print manufacturer (for prints) as we plan to handle the garment construction
by ourselves, so big space will not be required initially. Later on we will have tailors and other employees in our team, and
probably outsource the garment construction to our hired tailors.
• Easy transportation also available in the region.
Marketing

• The marketing campaign will seek to increase visibility for our company,
emphasizing the ability of the customer to completely customize their
design. Your Dream Outfit will use several different venues to
communicate this message such as:
• Advertising: online ads, features in blogs, etc.
• Social media influence: getting influencers, stylists, colleagues, etc. to
promote the brand.
Sales methodology

• The sales strategy will emphasize the fact that ordering/creating a garment is a very easy and pleasing experience.
The sales effort will work on the continual development of the website, the main tool used for ordering. It will be
quite important to have a friendly, easy to use web interface for two main reasons. One, there are so many choices
available that it could become daunting to the customer. The second reason is that a large portion of sales will be
placed on the website. It is imperative to make it so easy that people don’t stop part way through ordering due to
cumbersome or difficult instructions. The website embraces the philosophy of making the experience so easy and
pleasing that the customer comes back to buy more.

• Your Dream Outfit will also rely on three other factors to help boost sales. The first is exemplary customer service.
Having excellent service will provide the customer with the feeling that the business is looking out for the customer’s
interest. Second, when a customer places an order, they will probably be excited to see the finished product, so we
will ensure the fastest turnaround time possible. Lastly, sales will be boosted by offering customers a high quality
product, which will be made by sustainable methods.
• Satya will manage as the head of sales.
• Direct sale to customers through our own website.
• A selling target of at least 30 garments in the first month.
• Later, we plan on hiring more people as customer service representatives.

• Payment methods: Any online mode of transfer such as Gpay, Paytm, etc. as well as Net banking, and bank transfers. To keep things
completely digital and to ensure no – hands service, cash on delivery will not be available.
• To counter this and give the client some benefit, free shipping will be available on orders above a certain limit.
Manufacturing

• Fabrics and raw materials like threads, buttons, embellishments will be sourced locally from upcycled garments, warehouses and markets
to ensure zero wastage.
• Design and patterns will be created by Akshat and Pooja.
• Initially, even the garment construction will be handled by them, only the prints and embroidery will be done from outside the company (eg.
Shivalik prints) or a local embroiderer.
• 2-3 sewing machines, one overlock machine will be required initially.
Distribution

• Online store, with a fast delivery channel.

• To meet our expectations, we will start in a single location, i.e. Delhi and
eventually aspire to move to other cities.
• Costs: In order to pay our delivery channel, we will ask for shipping/delivery
charges, but will offer free delivery on orders above a certain limit, thus
ensuring customer satisfaction as well as a profit margin.
• Packaging will also be sustainable, with a strict no-plastic policy.
Order processing and Inventory
control

• An order placed will be visible to us through our website. The availability of the
product will be shown on the website and regularly updated according to the
fabric/materials in our inventory.
• Since our entire concept revolves around using already available fabric along
with the available designed patterns, we will only show those options on our
website.
Company structure

• CEO – Akshat Mishra

• CFO – Pooja Thakur
• Technical head (R&D/ Production/ Quality control): Akshat Mishra
• Marketing and sales (Marketing/sales/client service/client relations/inventory):
Satya Sharma
• Finance and administration (Accounting/Human resources): Pooja Thakur
• Initially as per our budget, we will only divide the tasks amongst ourselves,
with the delivery channel and print manufacturer as our only other added help.
• Later after a period of about 2 quarters, we plan to hire 6 more employees for
inventory & quality control, delivery, social media management, customer
service, and 2 tailors.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Labour

• We will only require delivery persons initially, who will be available locally.
• Later on we plan to hire 6 more employees.
• The 2 tailors we hire will be trained by us in developing garments under the
streetwear/athleisure category.
• Apart from the training, we will offer all our employees fair wages, pleasant working
environment, learning opportunities, flexibility in working hours (also work from home
options for certain tasks).

• Fairness and openness: Fair conduct towards everyone.

• Mental health awareness: Prioritizing the mental health of all workers, with sessions
on stress relief.
• Feedback sessions: to get genuine feedback on the workings of our company.
• Friendly competition: achieved through “Employee of the month” awards.
• Incentives: Bonuses, awards, benefits such as “Work from home week”
Social responsibility

• Since all our raw materials are sustainably sourced, and patterns created
through minimal wastage, we strive to create awareness about our
responsibility towards a better environment.
• We will train all our employees into working and creating an ethical
environment around us, in turn also treating them ethically with the utmost
dignity and integrity.
• Originality will always be our goal, with unique designs and original concepts in
our garments.
• Being sensitive of social and political issues, we will conduct sessions on
sensitivity and acceptance of all.
