Laboratories Beyond
The laboratories serve the purpose of training the students in the conventional and basic
courses of Mechanical Engineering; They are organized to provide hands on training to the

students in the emerging fields of specialization. Each theoretical course is backed up by
sufficient laboratory experiments. The students of this department may as well claim the
honour of being trained in one of the most sophisticated and state-of-the-art laboratories
available in the country.

ISHRAE IIEST ASME IIEST
Chapter Chapter
The ASME Student Chapter at IIEST Shibpur was established in 2019, with the sole aim of
enabling students to develop professional and technical skills and getting them acquainted
with the rapidly developing fields of engineering. As a part of this chapter, students participate
in various inter-collegiate and design competitions and organise various events. The chapter
has been organising sessions, seminars and competitions to get students acquainted with
latest avenues of research and innovation in Mechanical Engineering.
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) was
founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE operates NOTABLE ACTIVITIES
from over 42 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India with headquarter in Delhi.
The ISHRAE IIEST Shibpur Chapter is one of the oldest society of mechanical engineering
students and was re-established in 2019 with 52 active members at present. The students
