1. PURPOSE:
This Safety Standard has been developed to prevent injuries from workers and
reduce losses due to property and/or equipment damage.
2. SCOPE OF WORK:
This Scope of work is for Tarping & Untarping of trucks/trailers on site to ensure
all the execution shall be in Accordance to the Royal Commissions standard and
specification.

Project Manager bears the final responsibility for the Safety and Quality of
actual execution of works as well as zero injury during construction.
Safety Manager Ensure the project is constructed in a way that minimizes its
environmental impacts and maximizes workers safety and health.
6. WORK METHODOLOGY:
6.01 TARPING:
After the Approval of Royal Commission of the Tarping & De-Tarping System
proposed which serves as a pre-required document prior to start the execution
of sand materials from borrow pit, then execution of the works shall proceed
as follows;
6.01.2 Construction ensure that have Tarping Station at Borrow pit area.
6.01.5 To ensure the safety of all personnel at the top of tarping station
while removing/covering green mesh net behind the bucket to the
harness lanyard should be replaced with retractable appropriate in
the distance from the ground.
6.01.8 Tarping men ensure the wind does not affect the cover while
transporting the sand materials.
All the above steps must be contacted on a steady pace NEVER in hurry.
6.02 DE-TARPING:
6.01.2 The person assign at De-Tarping station ensure and check the
safety harness prior to use with the checklist and color code.

6.01.4 To ensure safety of all personnel at the top of tarping station while
removing/covering green mesh net behind the bucket to the
harness lanyard should be replaced with retractable appropriate in
the distance from the ground
6.01.5 Ensure at all times should be 100% tied off even when there’s no
truck/trailer arrives in the area.
6.01.6 Ensure to stop the truck/trailer properly before getting take off on
the bucket and to start removing the green mesh cover.
6.01.7 Ensure to tied off the two lanyard from the body harness while
working at the top of the truck/trailer.
6.01.8 Avoid unnecessary movements that are not related to work while on
the top of Tarping/De-Tarping Station to prevent accident.
6.01.9 The checker/tallymen must have the records of every trips that
coming on site.
6.01.10 The checker/tallymen before end of the day he must give the
records to his superior/supervisor.
All the above steps must be contacted on a steady pace NEVER in hurry.
7. SAFETY:
height prior to work start. The STAART for all activities shall be
made by construction supervisor in daily basis and reviewed by
safety officer and be available to all workers on site at all times.
7.01.2 Contractors will have a full time safety supervisor on site (Borrow
Pit & Jobsite) at all times and will be erecting temporary shelter
for drinking water and shade at Tarping/De-Tarping station. A
portable toilet will also be available on site.
7.01.3 All workers will be wearing high visibility vests and flagman will
be equipped with both red and green flags.
7.01.4 First Aid if required will be provided from our temporary facility
at the nearest worksite area.
7.01.5 No work will commence until the necessary permits have been
authorized and copy of these will be displayed at all times at the
construction area.
7.01.7 All equipment will have been inspected and approved and
having serial number for use by Safety and all drivers/operators
of equipment’s will be fully licensed and trained to use such
equipment.
7.01.8 Safety officer must ensure none is standing near the trucks during
operation. NO FOOT ON GROUND.
7.01.9 Contractors will operate under all terms and conditions of their
safety procedures as per Royal Commission Standard.
