durable and quality products. In that case, product innovation has become
important. Nike’s strong focus innovation is tied to its business strategy.
They invest in research and development to learn about customer
preferences and fashion trends.

New Business Model


One of the approaches visualized Nike’s new
business model is manufacturing products from reclaimed
materials from the different manufacturing processes and
at the end of the life of the product.

Under this new business model, Nike were


able to adapt and answer the demands of the
market. Nike introduced the air cushioning
technology to its running shoes which consists of
pressurized air (nitrogen) inside a tough yet
flexible bag called the Nike Air sole unit. Plastic
membranes filled with gas could be inserted into
the soles of the running shoes to make users
more comfortable.

Nike has developed a powerful supply chain and
manufacturing network that enables it to adapt quickly to
popular demand. The brand has been able to deliver superior
quality products while holding costs under control this is due
to the proper management of supply chain and
