Medieval Times
There are some special features of Medieval art, literature and
architecture. Let us find out each of their special features one by one.

Art
There are two main features of Medieval art. Firstly, Medieval art was
about religion only. Medieval artists only made paintings and sculptures
about God and the Church, so their art was unrealistic. They never did
paintings and sculptures about the lives of the common people. Secondly,
their works were rather dull and not very colourful.

Literature
Similarly, there are two main features of Medieval literature. Firstly,
Medieval literature was only about religion. The writers tried to persuade
the readers to think about life after death. Medieval writers only wrote in
Latin.

There are some special features of Renaissance art, literature and
architecture. Let us find out each of their special features one by one.

Art
There are two main features of Renaissance art. Firstly, it was mainly about
the lives of people. Therefore, their work was realistic. Secondly,
Renaissance artists did paintings and sculptures to show the beauty of the
world around them. Therefore, their works was colourful.

Literature
Similarly, there are two main features of Renaissance literature. Firstly, it
was mainly about human affairs such as love and politics. Secondly,
Renaissance writers wrote in their native languages.

Architecture
Builders in Renaissance times copied many ideas from the Greeks and
Romans. They built dome-shaped churches with tall columns like the Greek
and Roman buildings. They made wide windows that were decorated with
colorful stained glass showing beautiful patterns and human figures.
