Rationale In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or
the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013,the Department of
Education (DepEd) includes provision that stress the need to support
the professional growth and development of all teaching and non-
teaching personnel towards higher level of efficiency and effectiveness
in rendering basic education services for the Improvement of
Teaching and Learning .
With this, the DepEd institutionalizes the conduct of In -Service
Training of Teachers every year that aim to develop and support
successful teachers by nurturing their knowledge, attitudes, and
competencies in terms of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in
their work stations. In- Service Training simply be defined as relevant
courses and activities in which serving teachers should participate to
upgrade his professional knowledge . For comprehensive application,
the teachers will be re-oriented for upskilling and reskilling on the
utilization of topics for the INSET which will undergo lectures and
workshops that are beneficial for them .

Key Content/s 1. This policy provides the framework and enabling mechanisms for
the conduct and implementation in schools. It is directed towards
improving teacher knowledge, skills, and attitudes based on
established competencies linked to the k to 12 Curriculum

2. It shall be conducted on October 21-25 and interaction may also be

done through ICT when it is difficult to have face-to-face sessions.

3. There is a need to conduct INSET because this is the support

system for teachers who are tasked to deliver basic education.
