GBLT Interview of 30

There are submerged pumps (framo) used in chemical tankers, with one pump per tank. Stripping is done by opening the stripping valve and closing the discharge valve near the pump cover. An emergency stop stops the cargo pump immediately in cases of overflow or leakage. As the duty officer, safety checks include confirming able seamen are controlling mooring lines and checking emergency fire equipment prior to cargo operations.
