Warranty Policy
3X Engineering

1. Objective:

The present statement is to establish the 3X Engineering Warranty Policy and to define what is covered by
the policy, who is authorized to make warranty repairs, how the warranty cycle is completed, and where the
documentation is sent to complete the warranty process.

2. Scope:

The provisions of 3X Engineering Warranty Plan covers:


• The products warranty,
• The warranty exclusions,
• The requirements for certified installers,
• The requirements for engineering assessment,
• Acknowledgement of Completion.

3. Definitions:

3.1 Engineering Assessment:


It is the official document that 3X Engineering uses to identify the engineering conditions of any defect to
repair. 3X Engineering calculations and product selection are made following the information provided in the
engineering assessment.

3.2 3X Engineering products:


Composite Repair Systems: REINFORCEKiT 4D range (EC, ECHT, ECTHT, VHT, IC, ICHT, Subsea, HEA).
Online leak sealing: STOPKiT range (temporary or long-term, onshore or offshore).
Pipe and support protection: ROLLERKiT.
Under pressure and on line flange leak sealing: REFLANGEKiT SF6.

4. Development:

4.1 Product warranty


a) All products covered by warranty must have a valid expiration date or production date and shelf life
appearing on the product label.
b) 3X Engineering warrants all Branded Products (i.e., REINFORCEKiT, REFLANGEKiT, STOPKiT,
ROLLERKiT) to be free from defects in material for a period of five (5) years from date of shipment to the
customer.
c) All warranty claims shall be submitted in writing for defective material and must be made within the
warranty period.
d) Warranty is limited to the replacement of defective material.
e) Defective material should be returned for analysis after 3X Engineering issues return authorization, or
subject to a field inspection. Failure to submit a written claim within the warranty period shall release the
manufacturer from any claims by the customer.
f) 3X Engineering further warrants that all branded products meet specifications referenced to in literature
and technical data sheets, to the best of our knowledge at the date of issuance, contingent upon strict
compliance to installation instructions provided by 3X Engineering.
g) Any material replaced during warranty period benefits in its turn from a guarantee of five (5) years from its
approved reception.
h) It is the responsibility of the end user that the products are installed by trained certified installers.
i) It is the responsibility of the end user to insure that properties of 3X Engineering branded products meet
conditions of the environmental conditions that product will be expected to perform.
j) 3X Engineering makes no expressed warranties and no implied warranty of any kind other than set forth
above. This warranty is made and accepted in lieu of any and all warranties, expressed or implied including,
without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event
shall 3X Engineering be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

4.2. Warranty exclusions


This warranty does not cover:
a) Any repair or application services.
b) Any indirect or consequential damage as a result of operations under non-normal application or use as
per recommended by 3X Engineering instructions.
c) Any indirect or consequential damage as a result of operation beyond the operating temperature and
pressure specified by the client at the time of the inquiry.
d) Does not cover any loss of income or expenses claimed or incurred as a result of failure of the products;
e) Does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, negligent act or omission, alteration, modifications
or unauthorized service by the Purchaser or any other party;
f) As the repairs are based on the data provided by the end user, this guarantee does not cover any damage
resulting from an evolution of the internal defects.

4.3. Certified Installer


a) A certified installer is an individual that has been trained and qualified by 3X Engineering, having
successfully completed written examination, and satisfactory completion of practical tests in the application
of 3X Engineering products. 3X Engineering certified technicians receive a Training Certificate at completion
of training.
b) Warranty provisions extended are applicable only to installations by a 3X Engineering trained and certified
technician.
c) 3X Engineering maintains a record of all certified technicians.

4.4. Engineering Assessment Requirements


a) Warranty is contingent on and applicable to the service lines and operating parameters as submitted on
Engineering Assessment Form (FRM-COM-002), and identified by a dated Quotation Number. Any
modification to the engineering assessment in order to understand the defect has to be documented by
writing communications or in a new Engineering Assessment.
b) It is the responsibility of the End User to insure that the properties of 3X Engineering meet conditions of
the environmental conditions that the product will be expected to perform in.
c) The 3X Engineering Certified Installer limits warranty to the original materials used in installation and
surface areas wrapped.

4.5. Certificate of Acceptance


a) Upon completion of an installation, the Certified Installer shall submit an Official Report of Project Receipt
(DOC-FAB-003) or Installation Report to the End User, signed by the Certified Technician and the customer
agent.
b) A copy of the Receipt and the Installation Report and Engineering Assessment have to be forwarded to
3X Engineering for product warranty validation.
