Formative assessment

The goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing


feedback that can be used by instructors to improve their teaching and by students
to improve their learning. More specifically, formative assessments help students
identify their strengths and weaknesses and target areas that need work help
teacher to recognize where students are struggling and address problems
immediately.
Formative assessment is about what the students will learn, and how their learning
progresses. It’s also a tool for teachers and students to communicate their progress and
needs during a lesson. Think of it as a good process, and it is not focused on grades as
much as on the needs, understanding, and progress of each students and
Formative assessment is a diagnostic tool that I’m sure a lot of teacher has used this in
their classrooms, even if they didn’t know it! It’s a part of creating lessons that meet their
students’ needs.

Summative assessment
The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an
instructional unit by comparing it against some standard.

Summative assessment is meant to evaluate the outcomes, instead of looking at a student’s


development at a particular point in time. it is more quantitative, and it can be more easily
compared, making it an important metric used by teachers, and schools to monitor and
evaluate their students’ performance against a common standard.

Traditional assessment
It is refers to the conventional method of testing which usully produce a wriiten documents
,such as quiz and exam And in traditional assessment you are giving your students a test
like multiple choice test,short answer test, true or false test and essay to measure how much
your students have learned about your lessons.

Authentic assessment
It is a form of assessment to perform or demonstrate a real world test they are applying the
knowledge and skills that they have learned in your lessons. And in authentic assessment
you are asked or let your students to make a exhibits, demonstration,hands on and portfolios
to know if the’ve learned .
